This is the one thing that is really vexing me in this game, to the point that I just want to stop and never look back. I really hate when I am doing PvP activities and died because I didn’t realize I was surrounded by enemy players. Oh sure once I am in the down state the game decides to show them to me. This is a very bad design for a PvP game! Not being able to see all your enemies is crippling to game play.

The thing is:

1- In pvp I would much rather the client prioritize showing me enemies instead of allies. AT the very least show me their names! I don’t need to see their armor and bodies. If I have 100 hostiles in front of me I need to see THEM and not my allies. I can see the presence of my allies via the mini-map just fine. Enemies presence however is as mysterious as the Mists! How can I pvp if I don’t see them?

2- Your parent company NCsoft has this game called Aion which is known for its zergy combat. The game has this really nice feature where you press Shift+F12 and all enemy and friendly players avatars stop showing in your screen, BUT YOU CAN STILL SEE THEIR NAMES floating in the air and you can target them. This little features makes a world of difference in performance during heavy zerg encounters. Sure the game wont look like a beautiful epic battle, but I can play it! I can react to what is going on around me without seeing if the person attacking me is female/male asura/norn/etc.

Also the client will turn some players into silhouettes when it could not render everyone in the screen (if you didn’t shift+f12).

Perhaps you can include some of these features in a future patch? My computer is not top of the line, but is not a toaster oven either. Its a good gaming computer. With medium settings it should be able to handle this game wonderfully expect for the most massive of zergs (in which case having something liek the shift +f12 would suffice for enjoyable gameplay).

P.S. I played the game in my brothers computer, which is a top gaming desktop that he bought for this game and even though he has smooth fps all the time the enemies still don’t show until his dead.

I agree, I haven’t PvP’d much but even for PvE events not being able to get credit for any kills because your computer doesn’t render fast enough is not very fun.

Agree,

WvWvW is ruled by invisible zergs at the mo, and its game breaking tbh.

I would rather have smaller maps and fewer players than this nonsense with invisible zergs that just suddenly appear from nowhere.

Haha, I have fallen prey to the invisible zerg a few times as well.

Rift kinda had the opposite of this, itd render players before environment to the point where you couldn’t click on bosses because they hasn’t spawned yet.
