Hi, I’ve just finished leveling my 5th character (an Elementalist) and have three more classes to level up: Guardian, Mesmer and Engineer

I want to level up the most fun class first, but have found all three to be boring for me.
So I decided to start this thread, to share whats fun about each class to help me decide which class to level up, and maybe to help other people to decide later.

I’ll start

Necromancer :It was fun to jump off cliffs and not die, and its fun to have an army of minions follow me around

Warrior :It was fun to kill everything easily in pve, and to do that bug with the greatsword to spin around for ages

Thief :Stealthing around everywhere, and being a nuisance. Also being able to shadowstep (made moving around alot easier).

Ranger :Having a cool pet called “Jerome” , the awesome range you can have with that trait for the bows.

Elementalist :Conjuring weapons, and being useful in WvWvW for the combo fields

Necromancer – I haven’t used one that went past level 10, so can’t say.

Warrior – Hundred Blades. Win.

Guardian – Like a tank. 10 yrs to kill.

Thief – Stealth. Stealth and Stealth.

Ranger – Underpowered but has good range using traited Longbow.

Elementalist – Piano lesson.

Engineer – I never made it past level 5. Sorry

Mesmer – Cool skills, Portal very helpful. Level 30 skill truly helpful.

Hmm, Jerome like the german shepard in Ginga Densetsu Weed?

I haven’t fully leveled up Guardian and haven’t touched Engineer yet.

I think the fun of those two and Mesmer might be their variety. I like to kill stuff quick on my Warrior (or all my characters, really) but I also like doing stuff in different ways. Play around with your Guar, Mes or Eng build and you can make them pretty sturdy or supportive!

I’m still proud that I created a really awesome phantasm Mesmer build that can tank like a champ all on my own way back in December! It really is amazing compared to a Warrior or Ele does when built similarly.

Warrior: 18-25k crits off a greatsword. Yes please. Knockbacks and Bolas just to get people really riled up in sPVP Tournaments :P

Guardian: Keeping my entire team alive in a dungeon while they all went a sheilded themselves with their faces.

Engi: Only level 4 Hoping to to level it when I can get on

Theif: Only 54 but still plugging along. Loving the movement speed increase and just bouncing around.

Necro: Level 1 Baron Von Vaaderham! Yeah… wanna level him, but when I can get on.

I love my warrior though. She was my first and only toon for a while. Levelled a guardian purely to help my team through dungeon crawls Fun times.

Ranger: Fun with axe/axe watching them bounce off the heads of a group of mobs. Pet boar named Pigasso

Mesmer: Fun to wreak havoc with phantasms and messing around with portals in cities.

Engineer: Fun with flame throwers for the ambient killer daily.

Elementalist: Dagger/Dagger can be pretty fun.

Necromancer: Death Shroud comes in handy for getting to some of those mob infested POIs

Thief: Dual pistols, throw on some Metallica on iTunes and run around mowing down mobs when I’m bored.

Guardian: Snooze fest.

Warrior: Bigger snooze fest.

Thief: Dodge all the livelong day and leave caltrops when I do.

Warrior: Look and talk tough (sorry, she’s more fun to RP than to PvE).

Guardian: Live forever, heal the party to full with a short channel, this rose has thorns and here they are!

Necromancer: Aoe all over, poisons, slows, fears, condition removal in spades.

Mesmer: Can’t touch me! I’m here, I’m there, I’m everywhere. Now with two rapiers and Venetian human T2. GS 5 knockback is sooo satisfying against a group.

Engineer: Um. Flinging a shield like Captain America? Alas, he feels ineffective in PvE and requires far too much keyboard roaming to hit skills.

Ranger: Hasn’t grabbed me though the greatsword flying leap is fun and bows do many interesting things.

Elementalist: Really too squishy for fun though trying out dagger/dagger showed there is some potential there. Still haven’t played her since a bit after launch, she’s only level 30 or so.

Guardian: Very strong tanking ability. With a hammer and knights gear you can almost facetank anything in the game. Constant application of burning in PvE Almost too easy.

Mesmer: For me the best part of the mesmer is in-combat mobility and shatter / burst. It’s fun to see how much more powerful the class gets as you level. At level 35 you can have trouble fighting two enemies. The other day, my level 80 mesmer took on the vetran icewolf, vetran wolf, her pack of cubs, and whatever other random wolves were in Frostgorge at the same time and never went down.

Engineer: Only leveled an engineer to level 24 and deleted.

Anything I post is just the opinion of a very vocal minority of 1.

In order of those I leveled first:

Warrior: offhand axe = spin2win.

Mesmer: Portal. Period.

Thief: As a no-stealth s/p thief (transitioned from my condition bunker due to the shifting meta), I find it hilarious to slap on a set of celestial gear and burn all of my utilities and teleports to travel a 9-10k distance in under 3 seconds, which nobody can chase down when that whole rotation is only on a 15-second cooldown and you also have perma swiftness.

Ranger: Annoying the crap out of well necros on your own team with longbow’s Knockback.

Ele: Nothing beats raining hell down in WvW as a staff ele.

Necro: Because death shroud is too much fun.

Engineer: This class was probably the hardest for me to enjoy. It took until about level 20 for me to find a place I liked with it (and that place was slick shoes!).

Guardian: still leveling. I’ve got him sitting parked at level 40 in the charr tutorial area, mindlessly spamming staff whenever I don’t want to do anything but sit down and do something mindless.
