The future of World Bosses
Everyone expected Vermignus, the giant fire worm in Ember Bay to be a new world boss as we saw it in the trailer.
They decided to let a golem fight against it.

Not to mention the hotrible scaling problems for the pre. 20 people in the area and it’s scaled to that number, but only two are doing the pre which means a long, tedious process.
Vermignus could actually be an interesting world boss if there were any challenge in it. For now, even when the scaling is so high that 2-3 champion wurm pop at the same time, the golem in itself isn’t remotely damaged.
I’d love to have the event require a bunch of healers to take care of the golem. I’d love the event require additionnal DPS, and not “just let the golem do its job” to be done.
Yet, it’s ember bay, so it has to be easy… Too bad. The idea was interesting. Maybe some day, we’ll get a twisted marionette-level thing.
Still, I love Vermignus because of the wicked asura Ahadd. “Yes ! More pawa ! Ha ha ha !” The french dubbing on this one is excellent.

Vermingus is a let down to me as well.
Back to world bosses though, I fully expect Claw of Jormag fight to be updated at some point this LWS because we are going to be dealing with Jormag. Tequatl I think is in a good place right now. Not the most interesting fight sure, but I always have fun there and its more engaging than other bosses.
Taidha Covington would be my next preference for a revamped fight after Claw of Jormag. All you do is spend eternity bombing the doors, and then run around in a mob so big that you can’t even see Taidha. No challenge, no mechanics other than chasing her every so often. Its boring.
I would also like to see FE and SB get updated but considering they are in starter zones I am more forgiving of them being faceroll easy (to not put off brand new players who happen to find those events).
For TT, its actually quite fun if you get in an organized run. But I think the rewards could be buffed a bit considering how much coordination is involved to complete it. I mean jesus, the two successful runs I’ve been in had the 3 commanders spending 30-40 min explaining what to do

You have it backwards. Bringing more people only makes it easier (and funnily, more rewarding). Scaling was only intended to make it so larger groups could reasonably participate, like a level 80 in Queensdale. In terms of difficulty, if you bring 100 people, it’s actually going to be balanced for something like 60. Normal group events are actually balanced for 3 people.
Failing the wurm is nearly impossible however without intentionally trying. The wurms tend to ignore the middle relays, so it’s possible to win even if nobody shows up. If you want to see an event with a huge difference, try the sloth queen with only a few people. The zerg can casually burn her down, but a small group won’t be able to out DPS her healing, and trying will only cause her to eat the grubs faster, leading to a fail. The actual goal is to stall for the food deliveries, which put her to sleep.
I don’t know why those bosses have not quit the game yet. Most of them get their kittens handed to them every couple of hours. That’s got to be demoralising…

I actually found it went faster with two people who understood the mechanics than it sometimes goes with 20.
Of course, it’s still boring and tedious, both for the pre and the main fight. You do literally the exact same two things for the entire duration of the pre and the exact same thing for the duration of the primary fight. The pre can be done more quickly with coordination, but the main fight can’t be.
