The loot hunt is boring
You should not feel compelled to kill endless hordes of X, that’s the whole point of the system. You should log in when you want to do something you want to do, e.g. do a dungeon, WvW with your guild or sPvP.
If you can’t find a reason to keep comming back in the loot/reward system you should look somewhere else.
Occam Pi (Ele), Acaena Elongata (Warrior), Finja Salversdotir (Ranger),
Bytestream (Engineer), Vim Whitespace (Thief)
While I agree loot is fairly dull, this game is already too RNG based.
More interesting and varied armor skins would be sufficient.

I don’t agree with the “loot hunt” per se. You’re not forced to do it in this, but I will admit there’s a severe lack of goals. I’ve been working on a legendary and only just now realised how limited they are. Unless you want to join the Dusk/Dawn club which goes on 80% of classes, the others are way too limited.
Flameseeker: Only avaliable on WAR/GUA/ENG and ENG doesn’t even get to see it 75% of the time.
Moot: WAR/GUA
Juggernaught: WAR/GUA
Kudzu: WAR/RNG
A little disappointed at how much WAR biased this game has. Since I have an irrational hatred for heavy armor I’m pretty limited on what I can get. That slashed my goal to pieces and now I’m having difficulty holding interest. Not to mention about 1/2 the legendaries are completely underwhelming and you can find better exotics for them.
I don’t know, it’s hard to get motivated anymore when heavy armor gets majority access to the only things I wanted.
Similar to Pavlov’s dog, I need a reason to keep coming back… I just can’t find it in the current loot/reward system.
No. Pavlov learned that he could condition his dogs to have a certain response to an action (i.e. bell ring = drool). This was a reflex action. Having fun in a video game isn’t “conditioned” into us. It’s either you like it and have fun, or you don’t. Needing a reason to keep playing (i.e. better loot) is known as the feeling of “entitlement”, a completely different human psychological aspect.
Yeah, I see what you’re saying.(I think) It would be nice if we had more middle ground weapons, or something.
Some more equips on the same difficulty level to obtain as corrupted and destroyer weapons.
I wonder if we will get more dragon minion based weapons that you need a “small” amount of lodestones and some other things to craft.
Branded and Risen are already in the game, risen weapons would be pretty creepy, branded weapons would probably be cool looking.

I think your mistaking Pavlov’s dog with Skinner’s birds. But if your playing a game to get loot instead of enjoyment then your better off not playing the game at all.
It seems there are some new weapon models coming, those ‘eye’ ones. I have no idea how they will be obtained, though, but some people are looking forward to the new ‘skins’. =)

Good catch. Skinner’s positive reinforcement study would make sense. However, I would like to add that the “reward” here in game is subjective. Skinner’s study was based off of food (a necessity) as a reward, whereby the rats ate it until full. In the game, there already are loot drops as rewards that the OP isn’t happy with, but others are. The individual would determine if it was worth playing this game for said rewards and/or for fun. Newer or better loot drops wouldn’t guarantee a positive change in the player’s behavior.
