Arena strategy and end-game rule
1. Make it very annoying for players.
2. Leaves annoying bugs.
3, Gives annoying features. Sells junks in BLT.
4. Promotes rage quitters and bad community.
5. Nerfs everything if too many people does it.

So if point 5. If there are 2+ million players now doing Gw2. should we nerf Arena by not playing or not spending real money on BLT as its an exploit from Arena to its players ?

2. Is totally intentional -_-
4. Didn’t see that happening. Want to explain?
5. Nope, meta events and dungeons are still fine.

I think part of the problem is when skills get stuck in the queue, even if you have “Stop autoattack on target change” enabled.

Example, was playing and had killed a mob and was then just standing there. Picked up my kitty to give her some love (she was nowhere near my keyboard). Was turned around not even facing the monitor and keyboard when suddenly the game targeted a mob and started auto-attacking it. Without any command from me to do so!

I have auto-target disabled and stop auto-attack on target change enabled, however, the targeting system still frustrates the kitten out of me!

I love GW2, however, if I had to pick one thing that irritated me most from this game it would be the targeting system… which sucks as it is such an important part of the game!

Disable auto-targeting…

Why didn’t the thread end here in the first answer? It’s basically the solution here.

The very first thing I did when I first started playing was disable auto-targeting. Never had the problems stated in this thread.

Now I have issues with right click targeting and dropped targets but that is a different story.

Not quite, unless you limit yourself to clicking targets.

Target next enemy (default: tab) and nearest enemy (default: none) still favor whatever is nearest your screen center over whatever is nearest to your character.

Either ANet should disable the screen center part of targeting, or they should offer a crosshair so that we can tell that the screen center actually matters.

It’s always switching targets without commanding it to do so, i’ve learned to adapt to it, but still i don’t see how the issue could be neglected for so long. Escpecially with pvp, and how they control stat limits to ensure it’s fair gaming (always nerfing and buffing classes for balance), yet their game targeting is complete kitten.

While running to events or across wvw map, I always try to stay out of combat while running to keep the highest speed. But there are times, i just start attacking yellow mobs for no reason. It kitten es me off because it puts me into combat and slows me down. 95% of the time i run past them with no problems, and other times i just start shooting them without commanding it. I do have auto attack on but common these mobs arn’t even hostle, why would my char just start attacking them.

Gw2 has the worst targeting i’ve seen out of 15+ years of gaming. And the only reply from Anet i’ve seen is ty it’s a low priority thing to fix. I think they need to get thier priorities straight.

Ive never had an issue likethis. My skills always hit my target unless i kittened up something myself (like trying to shoot throuh a wall, being out of range).
Even with dingle target melee skills, always hit my target.
Note: my auto targeting is turned on
