The new Daily tracker cannot be turned off?
Looks annoying.
yeah…not a fan of UI that you can’t turn off…I’ve been annoyed with the Personal Story UI persistence since day one.
Dunno if you playing on a 4 inch laptop or something, but on mine, its a tiny bit of screen that i dont need or use. Flame on!

Then be prepared to be annoyed by it for eternity, because now it’ll be there even if you finish the story.
Who is in charge of this stuff?
UI components should always the option to be turned on/off IMO
i think that’s actually related to the “Living Story” “Flame & Frost Prelude” thing they have going on now. we had those golden stars for halloween, lost shores and witnersday before, if i remember correctly.
i agree, though, i’d like an option to turn it off, as well.

Got a legit lol from me with that one.
I very strongly dislike the star and big sloppy gray stripe. It is eye-catching and serves no purpose. It’s REALLY bothering me.
We seriously need the option to turn this stuff off. Please, ArenaNet. Just a toggle is all I’m asking for.

lols…
Look at all the OCDs coming out in this thread……
In all seriousness, a toggle would be nice yes
The Daily tracker is pretty silly. There are several elements to the daily so we’ll keep having to go back to the achievement pane to see what needs to be completed anyway. Take it awayyyyy.
How A.Net can go from the 100% customizable UI of Guild Wars 1 (move anything, resize anything, disable anything) into this borderline-atrocious and completely uncustomizable UI in GW2 is completely beyond me.
To all of you complaining – just be glad you didn’t witness the glory that was the GW1 UI.
Yeah, I want my GW1 UI (options, at least) back.
Yeah, please don’t push the dailies on us. I get distracted easily & thus dislike having distractions clutter my screen.
This includes achievement pop-ups :<
I think they stated once, they didn’t want the UI to be moddable (why on earth they wouldn’t want to allow and even encourage it is beyond me. it’s the cheapest and easiest way to make some usability studies). maybe they meant they didn’t even want customization in general. seeing as the only options of the top of my head are:
- cd-timers over skills
- groundtargeting circles on/off (or fastcast, without circles)
- 2 party window options
from what I read, its pretty clear: they decide which information is necessary for you and which you don’t want to see. they know better than you or any fan which happens to be a modder how information should be displayed. they don’t need our feedback, as we’re only the cashcows without a mind of our own.
that’s pretty ridiculous.. I really hated that grindy bigtimer in the mmo market, but at least they did some things right, like ui customization.
I was trying to find a way to keep it expanded. Any time you use a WP, it collapses again.

Wondering the same thing. Hell, in all those years of playing gw1, I still found myself changing the UI around almost every day. I think it took me a few years to get it “perfect” for me.
Dragonbrand – Level 80 – Human Ranger
A toggle would be really nice.
And I would love customizable Userinteface options, non moveable Targetwindows are very annoying.
sometimes i prefer ctrl+shift+h .. my keyboard buttons aren’t going anywhere but not seeing my health or chat is a little annoying too. ….. or attacking creatures that actually have green names and not knowing. I actually know 4 other people in my guild that are OCD about it also and just want to get it off the screen.
Yeah, the (almost) complete lack of ability to customise the UI is infuriating. Personally, I cannot see any downside in allowing players to arrange their screens in whichever way they want. Offering the player-base simple options to move, resize and enable/disable all elements of the UI is hardly a tall order, (in fact I’d say it should be a standard feature.) Alas, we are stuck with little annoyances, such as the perma-tracker, the enemy info-bar positioned top-centre of the screen (which frequently gets in the way,) the weapon tool-tip boxes that pop up during combat, etc.
For all it’s faults, SWTOR’s interface customisation was excellent.
Please ArenaNet, give us the ability to arrange our screens any way we want!
Last topic about this was deleted… so illl say it one more time, please, give us option to toogle things in tracker. When someone is playing on lower resolution (playing on tv like me) tracker is taking huuuuuge chunk of screen.
I don’t even want to move or resize anything, I just want to hide the tracker (both story and daily/monthly). I like the ability to track the achievements, but most of the time I am not actually working on my monthly (or my story progress)…
Most annoying. I like the option of having it there for those who wish to see it, but dislike their cluttering my screen against my wishes.
