The new FOV is fantastic. Thank you ANet!
For those interested, in your guild wars 2 shortcut, add:
-testVerticalFov
at the end of the target line, should look something like this:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -testVerticalFov"
Oh! – sweet. maybe now I’ll actually be able to look FORWARD… maybe even UPWARDS on my asura without the camera smacking into the floor. Thanks for the heads up
I wonder what the world beyond floor height looks like…

So far I like the difference. The Clock Tower puzzle seemed to even have better camera angles as a result too which was nice.

This is SO much better! It’s a lot more like the FoV in other MMO’s now!
I’m creaming my pants right now., this new FOV is amazing. =D
I don’t understand how something so simple can make such a huge difference! I can actually see the entire world now in 1080p!
Finally… some attention to detail changes.
Loving this. Thanks anet! Makes a world of difference.
am i the only werido who think the curent FoV is better?@@

Just because you find the current version better doesn’t make you a weirdo, FoV is a personal thing and what some find good you’ll find bad, and what you find good others will find bad.
It’s why people want a slider or at the minimum a tickable box for the new/old FoV.

I like the new FOV as well, it feels like I can see more of the enviroment thanks to it.
Great job Anet! 2 Thumbs up!
Alright so now could our Skillbar be adjusted to Smallest or Ultra Small please?
Some prefer Ultra Huge Skillbar which i dont know for what reason lol!
But some prefer it to be smallest for more undistracted view. Thankyou.
Is this just vertical? I mean no horizontal fov improvements?
Ya thanks im surprised they actually changed it
I just tested it and the changes seems pretty drastic compared to what @MrNobody posted…
The zoom out seems to be farther, but not only that, things seems… stretched?
Anyway, after looking at it, it’s probably why I thought Guild Wars 2 was so much different from other games, with the current FoV I think it’s more immersive than ever, I have to actually look up if I want to look up, or move to the sides if I want to look what’s there.
With this new FoV I don’t really need to do this, so it kinda breaks the immersion experience, looks much more like a game window now.
Although I know some people might have issues with the current FoV, I think they could leave an option for those who want it the current way (admittedly, I have some headaches sometimes when playing and moving too much, but it needs really too much for me to get sick).
Danicco, you get physical reactions from playing a game and your happy to suffer through it?
I’m sorry but for me the new FoV makes playing finally a pleasure, I have less eye strain, and not a single headache since changing over. If immersion is what we are calling making ourselves ill over then I don’t want to be immersed. I want a game I can play and come away from feeling well.
The FoV changes are ace and I’ll throw my lot in with the we need a slider crowd, choice is good.
Tried the new one, it feels pretty nauseous. Now I know how the FoV whiners(and I say that in an ironic way) have felt up until now.
Wow, I can finally see whats around me.
Re-installed the game to try the new FoV, very likey
Can’t edit but loving being able to see the tops of hills. The art team must have been gutted with the original FoV and rightly so!

I talk a lot of crap on everything(trying to validate how true my post is), and I have to say this is probably the best change that Arena net has made. Seriously… Thank you Arenanet this is awesome.
It’s not 100% what I wanted but the game doesn’t revolve around me and I’m happy with what they have given us.
