Wasn’t this change based on extensive pvp feedback? I thought I was reading a lot of interaction recently between devs and community about implementing these kinds of changes and getting a lot of positive reactions.

The problem was really simple. The map was too different and forced you to basically have 2 builds with your character. One for all maps except Skyhammer and one just for Skyhammer. And that simply doesn’t feel right.
No traps, no glass ground, no hammer anymore… Why did you remove everything that made the map cool ?
Wait.. there’s no hammer in Sky..hammer?
No one liked that terrible map, it may as well not be there the way it was because it was universally hated.
The changes are welcome.
Skyhammer was fun cause your cookiecutter meta zerg builds didnt work….you could use the enviroment to your advantage……thinking and stragety r not rewarded in gw2…only zerging
Could it be to cut down on the [Rank/Farm] Hit B and Tag. Jump. No CC. No Finishers. No Pets. Blue Caps. Read rules or ban!! type arenas?
There is no point to this map even existing anymore. Everything interesting or innovative is gone. GW2 introduced all this new tech, such as environmental elements and the Z axis, and PvP is stuck in the dark ages. Break pads were fun and perfectly suited PvP. It added a new element to PvP.
I want a variety of encounters, especially with an overabundance of conquest maps. Also, every map doesn’t have to be appropriate for tournament play. I want to see more utilization of environment, not less.
I liked how the JP in WvW had different environmental effects players could use against each other, like the spiked platforms and the ball of doom, and I was always disappointed such elements were integrated in PvP more, especially since opportunities to use it in WvW were so rare.
I’m very disappointed in the present state of PvP. The two modes are ininteresting, and the innovations present in PvE and to a lesser extent WvW are completely absent in PvP now.
