Kinda suck. They seriously need to just fix it so that you can do any 5 from a list of everything available to do (best solution), or at the very least have around 20 options. As it is now, you get options…kinda…but it is in no way “play the dailies your way” as was promised by Mr. Johanson. I mean really, Anet goes through the trouble of making it so you can select which ones you want to track, and which ones you want to do…and then offer only 9 options? Yeah, real smart.

The way it is now some people are okay with, and pisses others off, varying from day to day. The way I’m proposing to do it pleases everyone, equally, every day…because they can do whichever 5 they want to. Simple. It’s just…simple.

I’ve yet to have a problem completing these dailies. None have taken me more than half an hour. I have to also have to go out of my way to achieve them. They are easy, and take no time. Stop whinning.

Ignorance killed the cat, curiosity was framed.

If Anet gave you every daily to chose from, people would just chose the 5 easiest ones to do every day. If players find they can do 5 without ever leaving the front of the bank in LA, thats what they would do. All your idea would do is spoon feed the lazy players, its just that simple.

I’m not saying they’re hard. I’m not whining. I’m simply stating a fact, and that fact being that they are LESS free than the previous ways the had the dailies. I too complete them quickly, 30 minutes or so…but I (and a lot of other people) are having so much less fun while doing them now.

Last time I checked, that was the point of playing a game, no? Maybe not for some, obviously.

I don’t see a problem, in every update no matter how they fix it people will be kitten off for some reason that never fails. It all comes down to what people personally want and expect if that doesn’t match what Anet is doing they will complain.

True. But really, what’s so wrong with that? What is actually wrong with players getting the daily done quickly? As it stands now the only reasons most people leave LA anyway is to do the events with chests, various loot farmings and to level up characters, world completion…etc…how does that actually change anything? 2 of today’s objectives I wouldn’t have had to leave lions arch to do anyway.

That is true, I don’t get it either. But I’m not kitten off. I’m just not. What I’m saying is there is a SUPERIOR way of doing it, that would take them almost no effort to implement. Why would they not do it? You guys are essentially saying “less freedom is a good thing!”

I don’t share that sentiment, that’s all.

Because then you might as well remove the illusion of choice and take away all the dailies except those 5 easiest ones that the majority would be doing.

The current ones promote playing the game in various areas and in various types of content. Standing in front of the bank in LA doesn’t promote playing much of anything.

It promotes playing the game in various areas? I’m pretty confident that far more people are choosing the ones that are universal, the ones that can be done in any zone…such as gathering, kill variety and events…the ones that allow players to play where they WANT to play. However, I will yield that that you’re right about that if most players are doing what is easiest, then added choice isn’t much more than an illusion anyway. I guess a solution to that would be removing the lame “10 salvage” and “5 forges” type altogether. In that regard the way they had it before was far superior, because there were none of those cheesy ones to begin with, except of course the 10 crafting from the previous update.

My way of playing is sitting in LA all day and chatting with friends. Can they cater to that too?

Also, something that just occurred to me is that it feels more like choosing the ones you hate the least, rather than the ones you like the most. Great job!

I don’t really mind the Daily variety as it is now, but I do agree that there should be a bit more stability in it. What I propose is having three core Daily activities that are always fixed:

- X/50 Kills
- X/20 Gatherer
- X/5 Events

The subsequent six activities are random from day to day, and the odds of finding 2 out of the 6 that synergize well with your playstyle should be easy.

Idk, I find the dailies pretty easy to complete during the course of just goofing off in game. Many I completed without even realizing it.

If they did that, it’ll defeat the entire purpose of the design in the first place. So no. It’s easy enough as it is. Why do we need it to be even easier?

Yeah, that would be alright. I think most people would like it better if there was the original 4 as every day choices, though. But any solidity would be better than it is now!

I noticed that there’s one persistent WvW one per day, which is actually pretty inappropriate, and knocks most peoples actual choices down to 8.

How is it inappropriate? I spend all my time in WvW and still get the dailies done in half an hour in there. I like the new dailies because they offer variety not the instant gratification you are asking for. From your reasoning, I should get laurels for just logging in because that’s how I want to play.

Daily changes are getting better compared to before. I can do much faster then before. For variety, I’m sure Anet will add more in future

What I meant is it’s inappropriate that WvW get’s one solid slot out of the nine, to where really nothing else does. Seems…zwonky, to me.

Isn’t there Story Dungeon Runner for daily? That one is PvE solid slot I’d say.

Well, it’s not dungeon every day I know for sure…some days it’s personal story and personal story is useless for those who have already completed it, pretty much. So, again…zwonky.

Since the update I am rather pleased with the new Dailies. Yesterday (first time online after the update) I completed my Daily without even trying to do so. Previously I felt like I was being forced to do so. …will see about the coming dailies.

Sometimes game mechanics are supposed to provide some sort of challenge for the rewards. Crazy, stupid, obstinate, I know. “choose 5 your way” in most circumstances for most players is a necessity only to make it easier.

They’re called achievements, one would presumably think they aren’t meant to be effortless all the time. I look at the new requirements and wonder why Anet bothers to make them tied to tasks when they could hand out the rewards just for logging in for ten minutes and literally ~80% of the playerbase would actually consider that a fun improvement.

Consider that for a moment

The new dailies I don’t mind as at least it keeps the routine robot players on their toes. The monthly however is absurdly easy.

I love the new dailies. It is a huge improvement, i’m so glad I don’t have to do the crappy daily gatherings every single day any more.

I love how you can select the ones you want to keep track of. When I am playing the game as normal I can keep track and work on the dailies that fit in with what i’m up to at the time.

Perfect.

It seems some people will never be happy what ever changes are made. Some folk are just born to whine.

Loved perfectly the harder monthlies and dailies. So I was happy with it before the changes.

Now I’m happy but slightly less-so
