Why does a game that claims to be about competitive PvP, not have a PTS?

Despite what the Developers might think, They’re not the best ones to determine if something is balanced or not. That is why you have a Public Test Server, So before you can dump a bunch of overpowered crap on the Live Servers, people can test it and show that it shouldn’t go Live.

probably over half the balance mistakes you guys made in the past year could of been pointed out on a PTS…The other half were so blatantly obvious that you didn’t need a PTS to see they were over the top.

that requires extra resources – something NCsoft won’t fund anet to do….anet BARELY has the man power in terms of employees , no chance they can afford to add PTS servers and run them for testing purposes

PTS server for:

• Balance builds and feature testing: YES
• Future content: NO

we have enough spoiler issues as it is, with future content on PTS the experience would be ruined

yea it look at the live stream yesterday the moment any of those sigils or runes were posted they went up in value from1-10s to 1-3 golds. apts would make this worse

you do make some gold out of that speculation phase but not everyone can make tons of money out of it, me personally I only made 90g+ from that live stream

Don;t see how that holds up with their fortnightly release schedule. They just put resources in the wrong areas. They don’t want a PTS because they have a philosophy of wanting to make everything a big reveal, which just doesn’t work.

A change is not necessarily a mistake just because you disagree with it.
ArenaNet do have the actual numbers after all, so they are most likely quite a bit more qualified to balance the game than most people on the forums.
