They’re essentially turning Tequatl into a massive open world raid boss. I don’t know if it’s too little too late since any hardcore raiders would have moved on already.

It’s called “The Rising” and has following features:
- Tequatl Overhaul
- LFG System
- parallel overflow bosses
- world wide dragon warning (currently limited to tequatl and invasion)

If I can’t play Guild Wars 2 at work, I won’t work in Guild Wars 2 either.

Waht do you mean by massive open world raid boss?

It would require 80+ players that are highly coordinated unlike his current iteration where you don’t need much in terms of coordination. It will be closer to what a traditional instanced raid boss would be except that it will be in the open world. If we look back far enough, open world raid bosses were actually the rule rather than the exception. WoW kind of turned that around where instanced raid bosses were the rule and open world raid bosses the exception.

Hm. You don’t 3 million players telling you for an entire year, that bosses like Teq and SB are HP sponges. This could have been in for launch, or shortly after. Not over a year later.

A LFG system that really..isnt LFG. Its gw2lfg.com put in the game with a UI. And again, a Quality of Life feature that could of and should have been in game at launch. Most AAA MMOs launch with one these days. At least the MMOs released in the last two or three years.

Actually a large number of MMO’s including WoW did not have a good LFG till a year after launch. Also it is not easy to think of ways to change a boss and then implement it without a study and data to back it up. Also define AAA MMO cause most of the recent MMOs released to date have not been overly successful SWTOR anyone.

Why can’t they give us instanced boss fights? No 10fps fights, no skill lag, you chose your group up to 10 people and so on. Why do they always drop their garbage and are like “here, enjoy your gameplay in 15fps”… Would’ve preferred Teq (and all other major bosses) to be instanced done with 10 people instead. I wish anet looked at FF14 and learned from them how to create fun and rewarding instanced end game boss battles.

Lupi is essentially exactly what i want every boss to be in gw2 but instead…… you know what we have.

Anyways, back on topic for OP: the 17th september release will probably feature a new WvW mechanic with associated landscape changes.

Teq will be the next open world failure-fest following in the footsteps of Grenth and the Karka Queen. There will be some attention from large guilds initially if the reward is high enough and then that part of the open world will simply empty. Humans are just not built for continuous failure and I really wish Anet would learn this lesson sooner rather than later.

The ones this year have. In fact Wildstars gaming code, shows to have three times as many standard UI elements in their game title right now as is than GW2 has had since it’s launch, sad too because it’s from the same publisher.

These things are standard you know and even the AAA titles that didn’t have it at launch, they took only a few months to come out with it, whereas this team too more than a year even after changing to their fractal focus game system.

That’s the point people are making about this whole deal….someone over there isn’t managing time or projects properly and it shows in their updates every single month, has since launch. You can deny alot of things but you can’t deny that.

Wildstar isn’t released yet and Guild Wars 2 wasn’t realized this year. In fact, games that started being programmed 5 years ago show a total disregard for stuff like LFG tool. It’s almost always added later.

I don’t know why you’d hide from that kind of truth. Is Wildstar out? No. Of the AAA MMOs that have been released to date, I can’t think of any that came with a looking for group tool at launch. Certainly the majority haven’t.

You can’t deny that.

Because if every boss in the world was instanced there would be no players in the world- in other words, fragmentation of the player base.
but it is ok I don’t think this was a serious question.

now I have a question of sorts- I am all for harder content and this looks like a nice change.
I do not like to party up however and my guild consists of 2 players.
So can I just rock up for this fight and help out where I see a need? or is this strictly ’raid "type territory?
