the real solution to the RNG boxes problem is simple, but most players will not admit it.

here it is, split the cash shop in 2.

1 – you buy with in-game gold, and as such you have a chance at the skins with RNG.
2 – RMOT (real money only transaction) to get the skins you like, directly w/o the RNG.

seeing as these skins are all cosmetic, there is no pay 2 win issue at all, but making people pay real money and still use the RNG is bad really bad.

It’s the way the Cash Shop works that is to blame for these stupid RNG boxes.

just admit it and change the cash shop already.

you need either 2 currencies for the CS or the ability to make items only purchasable with RMOT= real money only transaction.

There it is A.net.

why would they change this when people pay real money already for the chance at skin. my friend spent 80 dollars (20 then 60) to get his Southsun skin ticket. Clearly they couldnt sell a guaranteed skin for 80. Way more profitable the current way so although helpful to players, I want more content/patches and if other people are able to support that, god bless them and keep the status quo

If you decouple RMT and gold everyone is going to use a cheaper cash buyout option instead. All that gold is then concentrated onto what’s left and you end up with in-game hyperinflation. That you are selling “only cosmetic” items isn’t the issue (since cosmetic items tend to be the most valuable items), the fact that you are taking away a huge gold sink is the issue. Decoupling currencies is what destroyed D3’s gold economy. It is exactly the wrong way to implement RMT.
