The "small" but wonderfull little things
I like watching the ambient animals – especially the cats sneaking around in villages and towns. Really brings the world alive.
[The Flameseeker Prophecies] 4/11/13
Itinerant, no guild.
The bullet casing sound effects on different surfaces STILL get me to this day, and I knew about it at launch.
The way a bush moves when you walk through it.
How well defined and decorated underwater areas are.
Little puffs floating through the air.
The way the trees sway in the wind.
The way zones in general feel.
The way my asuras ears stand up when they’re in combat
And of course having the pidgeon that delivers a mail fly into a mountain.
The bubbles behind the underwater Carrier Pigeon
/threaten on my Charr makes me smile every time I do it.

the pidgeon is more hilarous when you receive mail while you are underwater , he leave a trail of bubbles
The way that the water droplets cling to your screen when you get out of the water is fantastic.
Also, the way that they made part of the UI the experience, such as when you get blinded and the screen darkens.
There’s an event in Iron Marches I believe where you free Drakehounds from cages and they help you scout out enemies hiding in trees.
If the hound uncovers a landmine and it blows up, the poor dear limps around holding one paw up and I just go awwwwwwww : ’ (
The bubbles behind the underwater Carrier Pigeon
I always felt they should have made it a penguin for underwater.
Climbing a hill, getting to the top and seeing the world before you, especially at dawn or dusk over a large body of water, with a floating castle in the distance…
I like it when hostile mobs get hungry and assault the local ambient wildlife. Just yesterday I saw two wolves stalk and pounce on a rabbit. Then I slew the wolves and avenged the bunny, cause cats don’t like dogs, and we have to look out for our furry friends.

Now I won’t be satisfied until this happens.
/threaten on my Charr makes me smile every time I do it.
Heh, i find the /surprise backflip hilarious. Reminds me of a kitten poking a bug and have it react.

On that note, are there penguins in this game at all?
- The ambiance in many of the zones, particularly Orr, was done just right.
- Red herrings in jumping puzzles.
- The cave under the JP in the SE of Blazeridge Steppes.
- The underwater passage linking the two large water areas in Snowden Drifts.
- Norn rangers testing the wind with a raised finger.
- Revenge of the ambient critter: chickens in Ebonhawke.
I could go on, but that’s enough for now.
When you draw back your bow, you close one eye to take aim.
If you shoot an arrow through a fire field, it catches fire and does more damage.
The ambient banter between NPCs in town. It’s so prevalent I tend to take it for granted, but without it the world would seem so much less alive.
Edit: I don’t know if I’m allowed to post a “small” but “missing” thing that would improve the game, but I feel a realistic day/night cycle (sun and moon rising in one direction and setting in another, transitions of pink and orange during morning/evening, etc), is something they should have implemented.

Using the Kodan potion you get in HotW and then /dance. Dancing bears make me giggle every time
Ok, here we go:
that the wintersday minis actually look like old fashioned toys. The griffin has seams and embroidery and the textures of the princess-doll look like some rough linen fabric.
that on wintersday the snow in lions arch was not just there, there were little magical snow-machines spreading it over the city. At the beginning I found it strange that a caribean city should have snow, but then I looked up and saw them. I really love it that they think about such tiny details.
that the turtels in the SAB are some kind of boxes with small cards attached at the side which show the level maps of SAB.
the music-machine in divinities reach
the strawberry field in Kessex Hills with the diving googles
all the stuff lying around which can be used as weapons
harvesting, where some of it will have little berries, zuchinnis, etc that are gone when you harvest them.
All things bright (SAB) and beautiful (Queensdale)
All creatures great (Jade Maw) and small (bunny)
All things wise (Caithe) and wonderful (Pale Tree)
Arena.net made them all.

Hahaha, I just logged in on my charr to try that. You’re right, it’s absolutely cute and hilarious. Now I’m off to annoy people by spamming /surprised over and over and over again ^^

More 8 bit graphics pls
For me its the water. I know its not realistic but the water effects are like a painting of its own.
I just watched the demo of a fighting game based on a very famous comic book franchise on Youtube and I must say GW2 character models look way better, even though some races (Norn male) need some work.

My male Sylvari necromancer’s dialogue and tone of voice when speaking to or about his minions. He sounds respectful sometimes, devious others. The VA couldn’t have done the lines more perfectly.
The humpback whales and dolphins in certain underwater areas.
How some of the arachnids have fairly realistic anatomy, though they could stand to be a bit moreso, like Skyrim spiders.
How perfectly Orr was done. It does look depressing, but they really went all the way with it and didn’t chicken out on any of the gruesome details. I’m also constantly impressed with the variety of Risen, and how disgustingly accurate some of the Risen are to, uh, corpses – the humanoid ones are not generally overly stylized.
Zhaitan. Not the battle with him, but his design. Ditto on Tequatl and the Claw of Jormag. I love that you can see his skeleton within the ice.
Caledon Forest, the green areas of Timberline Falls, and Queensdale. I absolutely love those zones. There are a couple forest areas in the Charr lands I like hanging out in, too. They feel real, and remind me of GW1 at the same time.
The friendlier side of the community.
I forgot: Pygmy Moa dance.
/threaten on my Charr makes me smile every time I do it.

The charr /cry is also hillarious. It’s like ANet designed it so you feel embarrassed for making your charr cry.
The Hidden Garden JP…not exactly a “small” thing but wow is it good looking.
The fact that you don’t get a constant ‘low life’ beeping when you’re down to one heart in SAB. I was dreading it when I first started and was sooo happy when it didn’t happen.
The way you stand on an uneven surface. I was way more excited than I should have been when I saw that back in beta.
Asura baton twirl idle animation for a staff.
Charr idle animation weapon toss and catch.
I play on a laptop which, like most laptops, has very crappy speakers. The other day I played with earphones for the first time. Wow! I never realized how incredible the sound is in this game. I was hearing all these sounds I never heard before. And the music is really well done.
So those of you playing on laptops, get yourself a good pair of headphones or earbuds.
I love inspecting a suspicious bush and seeing a huge Norn just randomly pop out of the tiny space.
The ambient noises, especially in Lonar’s Pass. It really sounds like a mountain forest, with the bird calls etc, I could listen all day.
I’m new to the game and found the Captain’s puzzle in Lion’s Arch last night. TOTALLY AWESOME.
I dont remember where it was, but in a small town I ran into a building, up the stairs and walked into a bedroom and there is a Priestess in the room and a guy and a girl standing on the bed wearing bandages. I’m like: Ok…

Isn’t that in Fort Salma in Kessex Hills?
On topic:
I really like how there sometimes are special weather effects during dynamic events.
And how my character’s posture changes depending on the surface.
I also quite like how the music changes depending on so many things. For example, if I remember correctly, if you enter combat in Kryta you get different combat music than you get if you enter combat in Ascalon. And it also changes if there is a dynamic event going on.

When I stumbled over to Dolyak gaveyard and following their ghosts….I dont know, but It makes me sad in a way but not negative, Its just pure immersion for me.
Or the little puzzles you come across, aside from any PQ oder DE, just waiting to be discouvered by an explorer….love it!
:)
Skritt dialogue with the player or between themselves. Always makes me laugh!
The way the Asuran ears not only stick up in combat, but they go up even higher when you’re using a bow.

Like hyperactive kids when alone, but becoming very eloquent when in massive gatherings.

I haven’t seen this Doylak graveyard, can someone point me to it?

South east side of Harathi Hinterlands. Apparently it is a skill point location.
