Half an hour ago I decided to spent my hard earned laurels on some utility amulets. I already had 2, both are Distinguished Circle of Logics (zerker stats) with 20% gold and 15% karma infusion. I then went and bought another Distinguished Circle of Logic(?!) and infused it with the 20% magic find. Only after I equipped it I realized I should have gotten the Golden Lotus (+10% extra MF) instead (insert head-meet-wall sound effect here). 50 laurels down the drain and I can’t even blame anyone but myself. So what other stupid things have you guys done recently?

Nothing that stupid but:

-selling ancient bones at around 11s after holding them for 3 months. Needed gold fast so I sold them. A month later they went up to 17s.
-same as above but for armored scales. Sold them at 11s. Now they’re at 25s or so.

Selling an immense amount of coffers for 1s
when one day later they were at 1s50. I needed money quickly
but not that quickly…

One late night I deleted a level 63 Mesmer in T2/T1 armor with my only wizard hat equipped in her town clothes.
I loved that character and I have been kicking myself ever since- the new weapon skins would have been awesome on her

Although I understand your losses, market fluctuations are not something we can control about. Mine however is pure stupidity. XD

I suppose it isn’t huge, but I saved up the WvW badges to get exotic boots and then bought the wrong ones…I even equipped them before realizing that they were the wrong ones so it rendered them completely useless. It’s not near as much a loss kitten laurels, but it is something stupid I did.

Nah. Rangers are pretty cool.

Yeah, I love my ranger. I just felt like a quick poke at them was fitting.

Oh other things came to mind:

-back about a month after release I tried desperately to get 400 armorsmith. Overall I spent close to 100g because I kept refining or crafting stuff rather than discovering new items which give the most EXP
-using an outdated crafting guide which didn’t take into consideration fluctuating prices, which led me to waste a ton of gold. Now I use a guide that has dynamic pricing so I always get the cheapest 400 craft.

-Autorun off a cliff (x500 or so times)

-Tried to take on a Champion of my own level solo.

-Sold a Precurser obtained from the Ancient Karka event for under 100g

-Purchased the Tier 3 Asura Cultural Armor on a male Asura

-Ride the Lightning off a Cliff (x250+/-)

I have it on mine, and I love it. Only complaint is it makes you bald.

Forgetting that my double tap dodge was enabled in a jump puzzle that had a mob.
I dodged, got zapped, and fell off the cliff.
It was rather hilarious too, rather Wile E Coyote-ish as I plummeted to my watery death.

Auto-ran off a cliff before I knew what auto-run was. Thought, “that can’t be right, I’ll just check”, and did it again.

Yesterday I picked the Zenith Short Bow (instead of the Staff) for my reward. (My main is a Mesmer).

Ouch. You got a thief/ranger alt for the short bow?

I heard there was a glitch with some zenith weapons (if you click on something you get something else). Did you really click on short bow or did you click on staff and get the shortbow? If the latter, submit a ticket!

I actually have both, but don’t play either much. I also use Longbow primarily on Ranger and D/D on my Thief. I’ll probably throw the SB on both of them though, because why not?

Oh, I was pretty sure I hit Staff, but I figured my finger must have slipped. Maybe it was the glitch? I’ll throw a ticket in tonight. Thanks

Buying all the temple karma armor from the first temple I found open on my guardian instead of actually buying the stats I wanted.

Purchasing gems with gold thinking price was going to go up because of new items in gem store, prices went down next day and have remained mostly stable since then.

Last jump on a jumping puzzle, I can see the chest where I am, I just needed to position myself on the edge… one step… two stI MEANT TWO STEPS NO DOGEEEAAAARRGGHHGHHH splat

Making a char named Marshall Trahearne, then stepping into wvw.

-I started playing this game, thinking its good as gw1…
-I hesitated to pick a class to paly for like 2 months, then leveled a thief to 80.
-Stop playing, realizing, this is not the game for me.
-coming back, after a half year….even more stupid
-Wasting 3 more weeks hesitating, what class to play….starting to realize…IT IS not a game for me propaby?

Each of these are really stupid…exspecially after you read what i did after.

I am also guilty of this. I had gotten Storm from the Karka event. Sold it for 30g. I cry everytime I see Storm on a TP search and see what it goes for now.

Anything I do on the TP turns out to be a bad bad idea.

I farmed SE to buy some boots, ran to the vendor and bought the shoulders, which I already had. Salvaged for ectos and farmed SE more, ran to vendor and bought the light armor boots…for my guardian. Salvaged for ectos.

Saved up some karma for cleric’s boots, bought the shoulders, which I already had.

Farmed TA for some boots, bought the light armor boots for my guardian.

This is a problem I can’t seem to get over.

Oh man I hear ya. I was halfway into buying a set of Exotic Armor for my Warrior when I realized they were medium and light armor. Wish there was a way to filter the Armour not for your class. The RED warning letters are apparently not enough for me. Then went to buy a exotic GS, bought a sword instead!!

Good thing it’s only virtual money.

We were capturing a tower with a small group and an enemy zerg that was going to come sooner or later. Broke in to the lord’s room, and then I proceeded to dodge roll off the tower. >.> The tower was capped eventually but that sure made it unnecessarily harder.

- When i saw this game i checked classes and said “Mine is the mesmer” then i created tons of classes, all but mesmer and leveled warr to 80
- I decided i wanted another class and leveled Guardian to 80 and did world completion
- Deleted my first warrior, it had 2 400 crafts
- Deleted 50lvl thief i’ve been leveling with my friend
- Bought trinkets and 1 ascended trinket and then realized they were not my stats.

- Yesterday I was at the top of the new dive achievement and saw a Mesmer portal a guy up. The guy must have gotten too excited because he ran and jumped off without the goggles.

- Today I walked a guy through it and he did the same thing. LOL

Some months ago I spent the last of money on condition duration gear.
Didn’t check the forums/wiki until afterwards and I just bought paperweights.

- I made a berserker gs and transmuted the stats over to the mystic claymore…except the mystic claymore by default came with berserker stats :|
- Tried crafting medium armor with armorsmith
- Asked a friend to craft said medium armor even though I have 400 leatherworker
- Made a fat charr mesmer. I can’t port anyone because doing JPs with him is a nightmare

My wife was saving dungeon tokens for her legendary, but forgot which tokens she was saving, after she already had them all. She went and spent them all on exotic weapons and now has to run the dungeon 9 times again.
