There are too many chests
Are you actually complaining that you’re getting too much . . . loot? And you have to open too many chests to get that . . . loot?
Well, in about another week or so, you won’t have to worry about the Wintersday . . . loot.
On that note, if anyone feel it’s too much of a burden to open all those chests, you can forward them to me. There’s no need to get frustrated. I’ll take them off your hands and without complaint.

Containers within containers is a problem anet did kinda address with a Wintersday hotfix. But those bonus chests aren’t a big deal at all to me. One or two a level from WvW, one from PvP, and one from a world boss or dungeon.
I completely agree with you, is it really necessary for a tradeable item to be inside a craftable item, inside a bag, inside a chest? Anet must own stock in companys that make mice. My mouse clicking finger is exhausted.
With one click, you can forward all those troublesome chests to me. Give that clicker finger a rest. It’s not like you were getting anything worth anything anyway.
Am I right?
I don’t have a problem with the log-ins and dailies, since those are once a day and thus you don’t really get overloaded with them all at once (generally). Nor do I have a problem with the ones for achievements or collections, as those are also relatively infrequent.
However, If regular PvP / WvW stuff is anything like activities such as Bell Choir or Toypocolypse, then I agree that part is a bit silly (I don’t do WvW and PvP so I don’t know if its that bad, though).
Do I really need to see a glowing chest pop up EVERY SINGLE SONG I play? Or every single round of Toypoc that goes by? Why can’t it just go into my inventory automatically? If I play a few rounds without obsessively claiming every chest that comes up as they come, then I have to sit there for a minute slowly clicking every chest, watching the animation, and clicking it away just so that the next one in line can immediately pop up, rinse and repeat. What purpose does it serve, just so the game makes sure I darn well know its giving me that 1 present each round? I can see the little pop-up when I get an item above my mini-map, I don’t need a big glowing chest to make sure I don’t “miss it”.
I’d rather not have things like champ bags and containers open automatically in my inventory, you might not have room and want to save your champ bag opening for when you have a clear inventory to work with.
I understand this gripe. I only have so much inventory space. They throw these chests at you way too often. Inventory gets full have to stop game to sort it out, open, destroy, sell or salvage. And Im not going to salvage anything as long as my inventory is already packed with containers. Have to stop and find a merchant every 30 minutes if I want to sell the stuff. We get it, its chistmas, but this kittens dumb.
The sheer number of chests in this game is overwhelming. From leveling, rank ups (WvW and PvP), dailies, logging in, etc. They all appear at the bottom shaking and glittering and driving me mad!
And then I’ll open a chest which gives me a chest which I open to reveal bags that possibly give me more bags that I have to open to get gear I now have to salvage.
I know the intent is to provide that Christmas feeling of “ZOMG! Presents!” but it’s just pure tedium.
Please streamline this. Or at least make them less intrusive. For example:
- Only make them shake and shine for 5 seconds or so.
- If the player doesn’t open them within that 5 seconds, just stack them up so I can open them when I want to.
- If the player opens a chest with other containers in it, just open those containers automatically.
I completely disagree. Receiving stacking “containers” in your inventory is MUCH better than getting all kinds of different stuff that would fill up my inventory. Yes its more clicking but I definitely prefer the current method.
The only improvement I would suggest is being able to open a “stack” from your inventory. So you separate your “containers” into a stack of 10 (for instance) because you know you have enough room for the contents of 10 containers. Then you right-click and choose “Open All”. That would save some clicking.
Yea you do know that they stack up to 250 of the same kind right?
Honestly people complaining that they get to much loot….
if you got items instead of a chest you would have to stop every 12 mins to salvage or find a merchant to sell
You know they are in chest so you can easily hold items in your inventory with out maxing out the compactly too fast. So if a chest temporarily cuts down on holding say 2 items you can keep playing with out fear of running out of spaces. That kind of the ideal behind bags chest etc.. things that you need to open to get items.
Over all this complete seems pure knee jerk reaction and has no though put to it.
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)
Server : FA
I think the worst is during silverwates. Yay, you had to give me a slow loading chest window for just 2 bandit crests and 3 sand.. -_-
Seriously ANet ?
I’d always prefer chests above seperate drops, even though I have 146+ slot son most characters It’s annoying to stop and use my copperfed salvage-o-matic each time I finish a dungeons/ SW cycle/ whatever.
Chests are good because you’ll have the time to open them at leisure. and they save SPACE
even when you’re talking about the floating thingies in the right bottom of your screen, it still saves space, you can just leave them. There is no need to open them, untill you’re ready.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.
