Guild Wars 2

The only MMORPG I have ever played that had an end game was Star Wars Galaxies. That was only because your professions were actual professions. I remember having a doctors office by the tuskan fort. I would sell buffs and heal wounds, and made a good fortune on it. I was well known on the server for it as well, just like certain musicians and dancers were well known for what they did. I also remember that if you wanted the best weapons this side of the galaxy, you shopped at Froxx’s.

Every game I’ve ever played other than that was just a grind out, and the only ‘end-game’ were expansions.

I hit 80 about a week or so ago. So I am a pretty fresh 80 in terms of other players who have hit 80 months ago.
I agree with the op that there is nothing to do at 80, but only when you compare it to the old mmo structure of the past. There are a few mmo’s out there that still stick to the old school way end game “should” be, and if you have been playing mmo’s for a long time you can get “trained” in a way.

Do not get me wrong, the way old school mmos use end game is a good thing. It just works.
For the kid who never played an mmo in his life and Guild Wars 2 is his/hers first then its the best mmo ever. Just think about that for a second.

So for us old school players we have to change our thinking when it comes to this MMO. So for me my end game is this:
Map completion ( Big maybe )
42k karma gear. Got one piece already. Working towards the second.
Possibly a dungeon set
Step into WvWvW
Farm Orr nodes.
One day save up enough gold to buy a legendary. I really do not like crafting at all.
Get my butt up to where Jourmag spawns and fight him. ( Got Tequatil and Shatterer on farm)
For the players who have done everything they want then Gw2 will not mind if you put it down for awhile. Having no sub is great. Just come back when Anet adds more stuff.

Anyway this is my opinion, no disrespect to the OP.
