Things I'd rather have than mounts
Real shame is there so much that could be done to give PvE more staying power beyond farming, but I think it gets tossed aside because it doesn’t contribute to PvE or WvW.
One thing I’d love are unique weapons that you can find or earn that have something different about them. A skill on them is different to normal weapons, or it has a unique mod that affects certain ability types. Stuff like that is so cool for theorycrafting.

So for example a unique longbow only equippable by rangers. It has a different #5 skill that is a charged shot that tethers the target to the ground.

4. Housing (Guild halls seems like something I’ll never get used to) I want my godkitten house and have possibility to invite people over, scribe my own stuff and place it within.
5. PvE/PvP locations – sized for example as the new crystal desert map a map where would be open PvP (except group/squad members for example) and would fight for PvE objectives such as bosses champions and so – would earn exp for holding something for example and so..
6. Guild Wars – I’d love to have actual guild wars implemented in any way. Would it be small battles of limited size or fullscale wholeworld pvp status when two people with war meets.
7. Subclass – having to finish some super epic quest allowing myself to progress my character even further – for example adding a new class that could be switched and farmed
Second week of paid vacation. I’ll take it every time over a mount.

People who think their wants and needs take precendence over the decisions made by Arenanet shutting up. Now that is something I’d take over mounts, any day of the week.

people should be able to express their opinions about game decisions (read anet decisions) without someone telling them to shut up. how would anet ever kno people thought hot was a hot mess if everyone who disagreed just shut up and/or left the game instead?
we (the players) might not get to make the final call on the direction the game goes, but we shouldn’t be afraid to speak out when we think those directions are wrong.
thanks for your thoughtful and productive white knighting contribution tho, don’t remember the last time i posted
Things that I would have rather than mounts?
In game, I supose…
1. Rifle improvement and support role for Engies.
2. A commited storytelling fixing. It has become too weak and cheesy, even for me.
3. Templates for saving my builds.
4. Keyring.
5. Story explanations for (all) elite specs and revenant.
6. More and New Content for guilds: Missions, GvG, etc.
7. Boots that fit Asura and Charr toes, Headgear that fit Asura ears and Charr horns.
8. More emotes.
9. More armor in general (NOT outfits).
10. Improved UnderWater gameplay.
11. Dyeable weapons and backpacks.
12. Bigger weapons for Asura.
13. Playable Skritt.
14. Improved decoration interface.
15. More Horns and Ears.
16…
17… and so on.
18…
19. Playable Quaggan.
321… and on.
322…
333… In game april fools jokes comeback.
10785… and on.
10786…
10787… Playable Ooze..
999999999… and on…..
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

That’s funny, because I don’t see any opinions being posted here. Just people pasting their wishlists of things they would like to see in the game.
I am all for diversity in opinions, and I don’t have problems with people having a different opinion than I do, as long as these people know what they are talking about. Have any of you tried out the new mount system? Yea, I don’t think so.
How can you give accurate feedback on a product you haven’t even tried yet? The forums are plastered all over with feedback on speculations, or of worst-case-scenarios. Non of these people have played PoF yet. Maybe they should wait until they actually have tried the expansion before giving “feedback”. Nothing is going to get changed in the product before the release, based on this forum feedback, anyway. So there is no harm in waiting.
I myself have reservations about mounts, as I long have disliked the idea of mounts in GW2. I think they can work out great in the new maps, but also feel that they have no place in core Tyrian maps. Yet I’d rather wait and try the mount system first, so I can then make an educated opinion, instead of basing my feedback around “what ifs”.
In the sticky on giving feedback, it literally says: “Speak from experience: If you’re offering an opinion on new or changed game content, get experience with it before commenting.”

Also, if someone is going to suggest something, they should atleast support it with arguments. Don’t just say “I want this, kthxbye”. Actually explain why you think it’s a good idea. If you put some thought into it, half the idea posted here aren’t viable, or just outright aren’t going to happen.
If you are not seeing any opinion, what are you critizicing? and to what end?

1. A thread named “Things I’d rather have than mounts” renamed to “Now that mounts are here and I’ve accepted it, these are some other things I wish would be considered next”.
2. Longer forum titles.
Actually what is the hurdle to dying non-legendary weapons?

3. Templates for saving my builds.
That. It’s been a GW1 killer feature IMHO, and I would love to see it back in GW2.

Things I’d rather have than Mounts:
1. Charr Cars or one of those big lion faced tanks from the character prologue cutscene. It has to be as big though. This is an important detail.
2. Mounts with armor so I can ride a swirling ball of auras.
3. 10 mounts, 4 isn’t enough.
4. Mounts that can glide. Specifically the glider must deploy from my back while the mount continues it’s run sequence. Again, this is an important detail.
5. A mount for my mount. Only another animal of equal or larger size, not one of the tanks or a charr car. That would be weird.

I wasn’t very hyped on mounts but they added the GW2 twist to them which makes them worth it.
One thing I’m really disappointed with is the lack of a homestead option. I have previously suggested a way to do this is to have a story where the player along with the other members of Dragon’s Watch capture a special guild hall intended to serve as a player customizable space and story hub for future stories. Players could interact with other members of Dragon’s Watch on a regular basis.

Well, to be fair. Commander is in no position to get a homestead for Dragon watch right now, Dragon’s Watch is literally in shambles, everyone either is avoiding commander, occupied or throwing temper tantrum, the active member is just the commander and…….. Taimi count as half? I think?

True. I’m not overly impressed how they hyped up Dragon’s Watch only to let it fall apart in LWS3.
1. Customizable weapon skills. We’ve been using the same attacks for the same weapons since launch. It’s stale.
2. Additional classification for weapons. Instead of just the weapons, have weapon types (bludge, slash, Pierce) and incorporate into the skill tree for more diverse builds.
3. Weapon masteries. Instead of a line for mount masteries, why not with weapons? Unlock more abilities or enhanced bonuses.
I kind of did want mounts, but I’ve often wondered why at least the first two here haven’t been addressed at all.
I keep thinking they’ll announce new weapons and weapon skills and they just…never do. The staticness of weapons and weapon skills in the game is possibly the single biggest driver of the gameplay just becoming stale after a while. I would have thought adding new weapons and dynamic weapon skills would have been a huge priority for them.
Not doing stuff like this over balance concerns is a terrible idea.
