Thinkin about buyin a 2nd account for 50% off
I have one in the US with 11 characters, and one in EU with 2.
Pointless to be honest. I find that I am neglecting friends on one server when I spent stints playing on the other. My original intention was so that I could play with friends in any time zone (since I work shifts, I can be at home any time of the day), but I tend to set myself tasks which I stick to, meaning that I can spend weeks away from the other account.
In my opinion, stick to one account.
You can still post on the forums when one account gets infracted.
In all seriousness, if you’re up for the task, double rewards from world bosses is nice.

Ah yes, that was handy… Also when I got a 30min cooldown between posts at one stage.
Well, I do have a second Guild Wars account, and there was a time I considered carrying on the tradition of adding every ‘update’ to it, same as with the first account, but it didn’t take long for GW2 to change my mind about that. /e grumpy cat
However!
If you want a second account, and I think you do or you wouldn’t have mentioned it here, then I say go for it. Dang them danged old torpedoes, full steam ahead!
Pros: it’s GW2
Cons: it’s GW2
Hope this helps!
Well, occasionally there are choices in-game, and with two accounts, you can choose one from each of those choices.
It’s not much, but there’s that.
I had 3 full accounts in Guild Wars, but after several years, I mostly just played the one. Still nice to collect all those different birthday gifts, though. But, back in the day, it was cheaper to buy accounts than character slots. Not sure about here. Probably at 25 dollars for 5 slots.
I have 2 accounts. One for EU and one for NA. my main is on NA but it is SUPER awesome to be able to run dungeons and such with EU folks occasionally. And it was totally worth it to me.
And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.
Do fast dailies on the second account. Finish off what you have left of the monthly. Cash in laurels for T6 mats. Can’t think of too much else, besides extra storage space of course.
I have 2 account. Dont’ find too much use for it.
If you are a hardcore player, you can use it to bypass diminishing return. For example do the same dungeon twice in the same day and get reward for it.
Or you can play your second account when waiting for Tequalt or event like that.
But other than that, I dont’ find too much use for it. I find it more a chore to have 2 account. It take so much time to manage 1 account already.
Not really many pros because its not like you can send over your charr carvings to another account or your pristine fractal relics over to another account. Theres really no reason to box anything either
I play both my accounts daily and I have bought more character slots for each.
The pros:
- I never have to say: “I’m sorry I cannot play with you, because we are on different regions”.
- If my characters bags get stuffed where I cannot sell things, I can send mail to myself.
- Some time gated stuff can be gotten twice as fast, if one account is in more of a hurry than the other.
- Money travels between my accounts daily as do materials.
Cons:
- I have to do everything twice (since both accounts are equally important to me).
- WvW can be confusing when my servers are different colors.
- Guild stuff is apparently always going to be region locked.
If you’re willing to invest into crafting, you’ll make a lot of extra gold daily by crafting time-gated material. You already can pull a decent profit on some items by purchasing all of the materials off the TP. and even more if you already have them on hand.
If you buy an additional account, do it for a specific purpose. I wouldn’t suggest trying to maintain two accounts as that can be very time-consuming.
Pros:
Cons:
If you trade money to it often both you’re accounts will get flagged and banned.
I have two Accounts…
Pros: For me its Double Everything that is “Daily”. Double Dungeon Runs (especially the fast ones), Double Boss Hunting Loot Chests, Things like that. I bounce Materials and Monies back and forth. I invested in 500 Crafting one my main account and 400 Crafting in the other, so I easily can make time gated mats two times, I can easily send over my mats to my main account for things like Ascended crafting.
Cons: Having to log back and forth or accidentally logging into the wrong one sometimes gets me hahaha. Also, don’t Dual-Box it can get annoying and really isn’t worth it. I don’t play them at the same time I play one and then the other.
Really, its all in personal preference.
@Protoavis: I don’t think so? I’ve had both of my accounts since head start and I don’t ever recall being banned once for mailing myself stuff back and forth…And even if that DID happen I would just submit a ticket to support explaining what happened (its easy enough to prove you own both accounts), also there are 3 accounts on my ISP (multiple family play) and we mail back and forth all the time. In fact my family has on more than one occasion loaned me 200+g at a time and I’ve mailed it back with no problems.
“What Part Of Living Says You Gotta Die?
I Plan On Burnin Through Another 9 Lives”
The idea of starting a second account from scratch is incredibly unappealing to me. Aside from having friends in both regions, I can’t think of any reason for it that could be worth the trouble. Unless you play A LOT and really would do world bosses or dungeon paths more than once a day. I’d rather do something else if it’s at that point though.
All valid points, thank you much. I am still a little conflicted though. Being a ‘casual’ player, perhaps I should stick to just the one acct. I play every night after work for about 4hrs and then on the weekends as I like. I have no guild (save for my own personal bank guild) and have no friends in-game. If I feel like doing a dungeon it’s the all mighty pug for me. sPvP is not my game. Occasionally I’ll pop into EotM to glean a level or 2 on my slow climb to 80 (my 9th lvl 80), but other than that it’s pretty much been solo play for me for the last 1 3/4 years.
Being a hoarder though does have it’s pull toward a 2nd account if just for the storage and cross-account mailing.
That’s not enough. I play twice as much and am actually consiering second ccount for dungeons and crafting.
I’m only afraid of one thing – joining a dung runs with 300 AP. Ill have to be prepared to paste-spam something like “second account, please dont kick” >.<

Isn’t it just sad that people rely on AP as a deciding factor on a players worth?
No, it’s natural. Although, I usually give a chance even to lower AP guys.
We had this about 1.6k AP thief in FotM 19. Considering his AP, he was amazing. Still much worse then our friend thief, but a very good player.
