Thinking about coming back...
i dont think now is a good timing back to gw2.
gw2 now in freeze stage. wont have any updated on LS. only a few new item release regularly on TP. maybe back until HoT release
and WvW number getting less and less.
however if you left more then 1 years. still have bit to play.
ranger being more powerful then before.
Necro and engi are both very powerful in PvP right now.

Because we can’t be angry about both?
WvW is still crap, pvp is stil weird, pve wont get any new content.
Wait for HoT and dont ask here, just check some HoT reviews for a more objective impression.
by checking at anet snail process. if we lucky may get Hot at the end of this year.
April now already. start testing pvp strong hold.
still no news for new weapon. no news for new map detail. no news for extra weapon for each class. etc
and still have few more beta to run. and wait few more month after everything ready. maybe release on 2016. thats why they dont given release day.

Thank you all for the responses. I have been reading through the multiple threads on these forums and there still seems be quite a bit of angst that nothing has really been done on the WPvp front.
WvW won’t change. The new map in HoT is supposed to be better. Right now there’s nothing exciting in GW2 beyond new hairstyles.
There’s tons of information on how the new borderlands (For Heart of Thorns expansion) are going to be replace the current borderlands, they got walkthroughs already on twitch and the like. Start reading the blog posts ont he official site to follow through. In terms of PvE content, if its been a while you have a kitten ton to catch up on, many things have changed for the better and the addition to content.
I’ve been away for half a year and, hey, even the same forum threads complaining the same problems, still unresponded by ANet, let alone remedied, still active.
Compare that to the development some Kickstarter founded games took in that time and start sobbing quietly.
Either ANet seriously lacks manpower or perhaps Douglas Adams’ theoretical Slo-Time Envelope became quite real around ArenaNet’s HQ.
Or perhaps the model of a studio backed by a moloch publisher just evolved into an evolutionary dead end?
