This game is beautiful.
I agree, the Art in this game is simply amazing.
They haven’t disappointed me
The game is beautiful and I would argue the game design has not failed. I’ve been enjoying GW2 more than any other MMO I’ve played.
Regarding the art, I must have filled up my screenshot folder a dozen times already lol.
Guild Wars 2 is the most beautiful and well designed MMO in the market right now. However, the recent implementation of the ascended tier threatens to dissolve that primacy.
I feel that they are lacking in armor aesthetics. One of the most important things for players is how their character looks. And more hair styles would be cool.

No it doesn’t. Ascended items do not affect the art in the game. They affect the mechanics.
Graphics =/= art. Graphics is a technical thing only. Crysis had great graphics. It had no art. On the other hand, gw2 has pretty bad graphics, but the art more than matkes up for it.
Completely agree, love the new atmospherics. There wasn’t an elemental event going on the other day and I ran thru one of the warzones, there was so much smoke coming off the ground I could barely see where I was heading. That is awesome to me. Now if only they’d add fishing complete with props items to fish up and elite fishing poles and titles it would be a match made in heaven LOL
Not only “beautiful”, the game is also “fluid” in whatever you do.
Not judging the “hardcore” aspect of it, but for the leveling, for the leveling pvp or leveling pve, GW2 is an astonishing game, making all the other (WoW, SWTOR…) look bad. My opinion here.
I also think GW2 is a beautiful game, one of the best looking MMO style games out there. I think the original GW still holds up pretty darn well in the “golly gee that looks awesome!” category, too.
Yes, I after agree the game is gorgeous.
Not many games where I stop to admire the breathtaking view…in fact only 1, Guild Wars 2.
The artists, graphics people in ANet deserve alot of praise.
Yes. Yes, it is.
It’s weird how they made the game look better than almost all the most beautiful single-player games, and yet it’s a MMO with huge numbers of people running around.
No idea how tbh
The small details are amazing in this game you got to look for them though. Also the game play is realty good in this game. Most who are looking for something wrong will tend to find it even if its not there.
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)
Server : FA
Agreed. Despite any other problems I might have with the game, the world is head and shoulders above all others. The detail almost defies belief.
Agreed, great artwork in this game. It often amazes me how much pure art goes into making a game of this scale.
It even looks better in 3D.
I cut my gaming teeth on Adventure&ZorkI,II,III.

New games look so much better now. Tera is another one I think is beautiful, though it has a very different style from GW. Also looking forward to see some of the games coming down the line like Archage and Black Desert and even have high hopes for Everquest Next!
The world art has improved by leaps and bounds over the years.
Black Desert is amazing. GW2 is not bad, but I don’t like many things in design, like too many ships onshore, whole design of WvW, and mishmash of styles. GW2 has no soul, it has something to every player, from laser swords and anime characters, to auto-guns and medieval elements. For me this is lack of good design. Instead design Anet tried to make the most mercantile game ever, or let say it honestly – game like WoW. (Pandas are the top of mercantile stupidity)
SSI Gold Box D&D vs any other D&D game made is why graphics does not matter. SSI gold box captured the feel of what it was like to D&D better than any other game to date.

Bah you evil evil person. Saw you mention Black Desert so I went to look it up and first thing I looked at was trailer…it looks awsome. So then reading a article about it saw realse date was in about Aug-Sept 2013 not bad…But in Asia only:(Evil man you are for mentioning it disappointing me so.
The game is breathtaking in it’s beauty and detail. It’s like playing in a painting.
Daniel Dociu is the artist genius behind it. A very interesting person.

I agree, it is really beautiful. There is a lot of detail in the game too. If you take the time to stop and look in niches and caves and different areas, lots and lots of little detail.
Beautiful world and I’m having fun playing in it.
I agree. Like Halanna said above…the detail in the most minor of things is great. From a simple stone wall of house to the sailwork in the suspended ships in LA. ANet nailed the artwork.
