Let me start by saying I played Guild Wars for hundreds of hours, so obviously I wanted to buy the sequel. However, Guild Wars 2 has nothing todo with the original. This should have been called World of Warguilds 2.

All MMO’s are mindless drivel that consist of fetch, kill, deliver quests that are an insult to a gamer’s intelligence. It is a sad day when the only good online action RPG becomes one of those rubbish MMO’s. Thank you for taking my $60 under the guise of a lie. I shall never be buying another game of yours without doing heavy research to whether it is what you say it is.

Sad gamer

The game really should not contain the word guild in the title since it has absolutely no guild focused content in it.

P.S before people say its called guild wars because of the lore I know >_>

This should be named Tyrian Wars.

It is just so different (and superior) than Guild Wars.

I mean, Guild Wars was the Unfinished Tales, this is the freaking Silmarillion.

I think it would be more like Age of World of Skyronancraft.

Atleast how it feels like to me. W/O the same endgame of course.

Not when it’s the sequel to one of my favorite games of all time and has an amazing Metacritic score. Guess I will from now on

I don’t understand the thought that just because you liked the first game, it also means you will like the second. The only way that could happen would be if it was the same game as the first one, in which case you’d just be paying 60$ for a patch. Developers (or any kind of seller) who just gives you a similar product to the first one, are only doing it to make some quick bucks (Borderlands 2 is a perfect example of this). I have a huge amount of respect for ArenaNet because they have the kittens to leap forward, instead of just taking a small step.

The thing is this game shares all the same concepts of the 1st game while being more like an actual mmo. What do you not like about gw2? Guild wars has always been about horizontal scaling rather than vertical and no required grinding (optional unlike other mmos which you run the tier gear hamster wheel).
