Do people have separate gear sets for fractals and dungeons/raids, PvE, Etc. ?

I’ve finally gotten into doing fractals and i am at the point where i need to start using agony infusions BUT what am i suppose to do once i want to switch over to doing a dungeon or two? What happens to the gear with the agony infusions? it becomes quite useless doing other things that don’t require agony.

My question is..what do people usually do for that? Have separate sets of gear/trinkets what?

It got ignored because it doesn’t make much sense. Fractals, as any other content require power DPS or condi DPS builds. If you put infusions onto your gear, you can always extract them back for 24 silver per one piece of gear. However, there is almost zero reason to change them. It only makes sense if you are into maxing out stats, but all the content can be easily beating without it. +5 Power infusions can be put just on weapon, 2 rings, 1 earring, amulet, backpack. If you want to put +5 power on armor or the other earring, you need to spend like 100 gold per one +5power versatile infusion – that is 700 gold for 35 power….. Go figure.

Maybe you read it wrong OR i wrote it wrong.

Say i put agony stuff on my trinkets and accessories in order to do fractals.

1 hour later i decide i don’t want to fractals, instead i want to run a raid or dungeon.

If i go into said dungeon or raid with my accessories/trinkets still equipped with the agony infusions i am losing a huge bonus because i could instead equip POWER/PRECISION/TROUGHNESS/ETC… infusions.

SO, my question to the forum is what are players doing with this issue..are they keeping separate sets of gear OR they salvaging/re-equipping infusions as they switch from fractals to other form of play?

It’s not huge bonus, it is minimal bonus unless you want to spend 700g (after which it is little bit bigger, but still minimal). You can have another batch of trinkets with WvW +5 infusions (the cheapest ones) if you like. You have to understand that the stat different is little, infusions were made for agony resistance in the first place.

We are talking about +70 stats (14 pieces of gear each with +5 stat)

Same gear for everything. I choose a path for each char and stick to it. I have a rev and mesmer with 140 AR so those are my options for fractal. I have a guardian and engi with ~ 110 AR so i can do fractals if i want but usually don’t. On the other hand my mesmer never sees the outside world, only fractals, LA and the pvp lobby ocasionally.
My engi is kinda my main but from a time prior to pistol condi pew pew so i made Predator and feel reluctant to put it in the bank. Because of that i don’t play him in high lvl fractals and raids as he’s in berserker gear, but i have great fun roaming open world and hot maps as well.
Note that i have made 4 fully ascended geared characters and 2 missing a few items. If you only have 1 acended set i would make whatever you would use for high lvl fractal. But in either case that would be either berserker, marauder or viper. The only place you need defensive stats are in pvp so all gear you craft should be offensive imo. If you really want some durabiltiy i say make all your armor marauder but don’t go further than that. Hope this helps

Also, if i jump from fractals to other forms oh game play OFTEN, then i will go broke using the 24S to un-equip infusions from each trinket/gear. So i ask again…is this what the average person does OR do people keep separate sets of gear?

PEOPLE DO NOT CARE ABOUT +70 stat why can’t you understand it? You are hardcore WvWer? Well then have another set of gear with +70 stat. Otherwise USELESS, even in raids.

First of all, relax.

Second of all, you gave a couple of explanations but DID NOT answer my actual question ( Still haven’t actually ).
