This is my first major maintenence/patch
Eastern time will likely be about 3PM as we’re 3 hours ahead of Pacific. It could be up to 5 or 6PM Eastern if they run into some last second delays, but they mainly put it out between noon and 2 their time.

There is no set time, so it could happen anytime between now and 5pm EST. You’ll get a notice in-game that there will be a patch in 10 minutes and the game will give you an hour to restart your client (unless you’re in wvw). Then you restart, game patches (depends on your download speed) and back in game. It’s pretty seamless.

Gotcha, thanks!
Sure thing With the steaming client feature now being enabled, you’ll also be able to get in-game much sooner due to not having to download the entire patch before being able to log in. You can now log in once the crucial files are all downloaded and leave it stream the rest of the download in the background.

Just as a note, do not get used to patches being this early.
(it’s live right now at 9:00am Eastern)
I’ve not seen a patch get released this early in nearly 3 years of the game. Great if this is the new norm, but I doubt it. For future patches it may be best to keep expectations up around the times I noted earlier.
