I’m losing interest in this game fast, but I don’t want to. I’m level 21 and am a Charr. Currently in Diessa Plateau trying to get to the Breached Wall Vista. There are too many mobs and they respawn too fast to do it solo – well, I want to play a game not do it as a job and I’m getting tired of trying to do this. I’ve player lots of MMOs for lots of hours and Guild Wars too does have a respawn rate that is too fast. At one point, there’s 4 against me; by the time I kill the last one, the others are coming back.

Ok, so the answer is to find a group or a guild. Well, I’m on the Underworld EU server and it’s meant to be high population – but I never see anyone, no-one responds in Map chat and the one guild I once found is pretty much inactive. This map is driving me insame and without any help, the Breached Wall is just wanting to make me give it up. How come the game is bereft of players when the server is high population?

I need a reason to stick at it as I’m ready to leave and go and find a game that is a lot less frustrating and a lot more active on a ‘very high population’ server.

That vista can be easily solo’d, I’ve personally done it quite a few times, I suspect you’re taking the wrong approach, take a look at one of the vids on YouTube?

What a shame you are on the EU servers I was going to offer to come and help you but alas I am on the NA servers. I would suggest that if you can’t find people to help you that you have a few options to get this done at a later date:

1 – Wait until you have a friend or 2 (guildies would work too) to help you tackle it. Really it would only take 1 lvl 80 friend to help you through it if they know what they are doing.

2 – Wait for the feature pack that is coming which will be in a sense merging all worlds together. This will give you more people on your map to help out.

3 – Clear a few other maps, unlock your elite and stronger skills/gear and come back and give it another shot. You will find it a LOT easier trust me.

PS despite what I said in point 1 you don’t even really need a lvl 80 friend. I managed to solo this every time on every single one of my alts at the appropriate level for the map. It’s not so hard when you know what you are doing especially if you are used to the jump puzzles (it is the jump puzzle/vista/SP wall we are talking about right?) in this game. Another tip – you don’t have to fight/kill every mob in your way.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

Being level 21 doesn’t necessarily help with that particular vista, since the Breached Wall is a level 24 zone. My suggestion: Go to a different, lower level map (Queensdale, or another one of the starter zones, for instance) and build yourself up a bit.

If you need help on how to accomplish this, feel free to ask – I’ll try to guide you in-game or give you written instructions in a PM! (I can’t come physically help, as I am in NA servers)

I didn’t really lose interest in this game until about 1000 hours in (admittedly at this point I find it a little bland now, but that’s for entirely different reasons). Anyway, some general tips I can offer you:

Make sure you’re doing level-appropriate content (even a level or two over makes it extremely difficult to solo).

Get masterwork gear (either from drops or on the TP) that are level appropriate for you, they’re much better than fine quality gear for roaming.

When you hit 80, do everything you can conceivably imagine to get exotics – they will drastically improve what you enjoy.

Play around with weapons and see what you like. PvE is pretty easy, don’t stick to what people on forums tell you is “best” because the best is what you can use.

I am not even sure that we can PM other players on the other region game. Something you might want to keep in mind.

We can. I have several friends in EU servers and I’ve even sent them mail before.

Wow, well I guess that’s something. Strange they wont let us guest there and such stating it’s not physically possible due to the information all being saved in each area with totally different economies etc as well yet we can send mail possibly with cash/items from our economy to theirs….

It took me many, many tries to do the Breached Wall but once I learned the tricks you can blast through it pretty quickly. This is one that once you get it, you really do feel like you accomplished something. It does sound like you may need to level up a bit more to try it. Possibly a lot of folk are on other maps or in WvW so you are not seeing too many in this area right now. Maybe ask in Gendarren where lot of folk hang out and see if someone will go with you. Your best bet is when there is a jumping puzzle for the daily and right now there is the monthly so folk will be wanting to get those out of the way.

A lot of the mobs you can run right by so you don’t really have to fight all that much. One good tip is when you get to the two arches you have to leap from the first arch to the second (this is where I had the most trouble) inch down to where you can see a line as the first arch curves down and then jump to the second arch from there. I now get it nearly every time now but it was one of my biggest frustration points. Also if you fail, you land on a ledge just below so hop over the small gap and back up the rubble to the first arch again – no need to start over and no mobs to deal with. At the end to get the view, jump from the upper ledge not the lower one.

Dulfy.net’s jumping puzzle guide might help a bit too.

Good luck and keep at it. You surely will get the puzzle down and if you have not tried, do the Crimson Plateau Jumping Puzzle just across the way do that one too. It is a lot shorter.

1. ANet JUST posted info on new megaserver structures that will address the PVE population issue. It will start on April 15th in low level areas and go world-wide later this year.

2. That Vista is pretty easy to solo, but maybe not at lvl 21. Skip it and come back to it later. Don’t get hung up on one thing. If it is too difficult right now, then skip it and come back.

3. If this is your first character, and you are level 21, then you are just barely beginning GW2. The game has a lot to offer; don’t give up so quickly.

4. Respawn rates are pretty good in most places. I really don’t think that is the problem.

5. When seeking advice about a particular in-game situation, make sure you let people know what profession you are playing. GW2 as a Warrior is a completely different game than GW2 as a Mesmer. People can give you more specific feedback if they know what profession you are playing.

6. If you NEED to do that Vista before advancing any further in the game, try a new approach. Try a different weapon set. Try different Skills. Check your gear and make sure you are using level appropriate weapons/armor. Keep in mind that you can just run past a lot of enemies without having to fight them. If you haven’t yet, learn how Dodging works and practice dodging during fights. I’ve soloed that particular Jumping Puzzle/Vista many many times, and I only fight one or two of the mobs. I just run past all the others.

The economy is shared between NA and EU. Same Trading Post, no separation, at all. What will be separated economy-wise will be NA/EU and China. =)

How did you get the idea that you had to complete this one vista before moving on to anything else? O.o
