The Ascendance gear is designed to fill the huge gap between how long it takes to get exotics and how long it takes to get Legendary gear (without spending some ludicrous amount of money on gems). With that in mind, again I don’t see why they wouldn’t be able to stop.

tell me what prevent you to change gear….plenty of different stats/aestethic even prepatch

We instead will be FORCED to change gear to be competitive and to access all game features
But i know the answer you are possibly trolling….

Also maybe this will be the last tier….
They have infusions in order to make us grind now….i just hpe people won t buy gems/gold to obtain those….bcause its really wrong.

Would be rather pointless to introduce gating mechanics ( aka “infusions” ) for one dungeon only. So…

Usually I’d say “Well you bought the wrong game” but if you like WORKING in games then so be it.

Also, I’m not lazy, I play sports and go to school, but when it comes to games that are supposed to be fun. I don’t go into it expecting a grindfest.

and to the “lazy” ppl: you dont have to get the new gears. its not like someone force you. dont find it fun to get new items? dont do it then! i normally dont do thing i dont like, but i might be uniqe in that… i dont know…

And it doesn’t seems natural for you to understand that no progression depends on stats and perequisites

To appeal to all spectrum of gaming we need vertical progression along with horizontal progression. That way everybody can be happy.

We are being forced though, especially those in Wv3 that want don’t want to have any kind of dis-advantage. I didn’t go for legendary’s, those are optional because they didn’t increase stats. Why didn’t I go for it? didn’t have time for it & even if I did, I wouldn’t spend it endlessly grinding.

That “huge gap” you are talking about was actually supposed to be a permanent plateau. Gear stat creep was supposed to stop in this game at exotics, forever. That was what pretty much anybody who actually followed ArenaNet and understood their philosophy was lead to believe.

The difficulty in getting legendaries was completely voluntary…because the stats were the same.

The fact that this provides some sort of “gap filler” does not preclude them continuing to add new, higher-stated infusions to the game. Even if ascended is the only additional gear type they ever add, the treadmill will be centered around more and more powerful infusions…and that can go on infinitely.

Their goal with this change is to attract players who need to continuously see higher stats in order to continue playing. They will have to continue to increase the stats if they want to retain those players. Based on their new design philosophy, it would make no sense for them to NOT continue raising the stats. They just built a treadmill, they aren’t going to let it sit in the basement and hang clothes on it. They are going to get us jogging and never stop.

People just want more powerful gear, just give them.

We can weep in the corner while they turning GW2 into another WoW wonderland.
