I just received and filled out the survey for the Lost Shores event. I wanted to point out it was not obvious to me what exactly you meant by “one-time-event.” Does one-time-event mean an event that occurs and ends 30 minutes later? Does it mean some new feature is available for a few hours? Does it mean there is a cut-scene you will miss but can still participate in later? Does it mean that the event will be occurring for the full weekend? For just 24 hours? For just a few minutes?

This distinction is important because for me, when I received the email about the lost shores, the title of the email summarized my expectations: “Epic New Guild Wars 2 Content this Weekend Only – Discover the Lost Shores!” The implication was that I could participate throughout the weekend. I logged in every day of the event and participated in the content, and was very excited for stage 3. Sadly, when I Iogged in to participate, I was informed by my guild-mates that the event would not continue for the next 24 hours as I had expected, but rather for just a very short time-frame after the initial unlock cut scene.

Many of us loved the content and were extremely excited about it and other one-time events, but unlike Halloween, could not participate during such a strict time-frame. By failing to be specific in your questions about one time events, what they are, and what they mean, you are likely failing to gather feedback more nuanced beyond “do you like one-time events?”
