Tier 3 armor
What I dont understand is why is this tier 3 cultural armor rares and not exotics? Considering their karma/gold costs this just doesnt make any sense.
Farm DEs in Cursed Shore. I made the 100g I needed for my set in less than a week doing that. Totally worth it.

Idk how you figure that, the armor doesnt even look that great and its rare, not exotic…..
@seventhson
People do it for the skins, not the stats. The price is fine, it’s an armor of prestige.
Ive said it in several threads about T3 armor but i guess I’ll have to say it again . T3 Cultural is the equivalent to FoW from Guild Wars 1 . Its soul purpose is for rich players to show off their wealth .The only difference between FoW and T3 cultural is that T3 cultural is cheaper .

1: It looks great, I don’t know what set you’re looking at. 2: No one would farm for T3 cultural armor for the stats.

Like i said they arent that great looking.

All the asuran cloth armor sets are lousy looking. I wouldnt spend a copper or karma for them.

Some of them look better than others, I suppose. Charr heavy armor the best by far IMO, but maybe I’m biased.

But there are some cultural armors that look sick. Again, Charr warrior. awesome looking armor. But I also say. The armor you get from Lion’s arch. the things you buy it with are from CoF. thats awesome armor too.

That’s a matter of opinion. If you don’t like how they look, just ignore them altogether.

And I’m not gonna waste my time doing the same DE’s over and over for gold that you get in a week. and that means in like what? Three days of doing this farming thing, you could finally get the tier 3. When, if they lowered the price, could be a lot less time trying to get all that gold.

They could also sell legendaries for 1g each. It would be a lot less time too.
If you don’t want to spend the time getting this armor, it wasn’t made for you. Simple as that.

Then problem solved, just don’t buy it.

Wish I knew where in this zone you did that. I’m in need of some funds.

Penitent/Shelter Gate. You’ll have to compete with the bots. :P

Three days of farming to get an armor set you very well may use for years. Not for stats, of course, but for looks. If they lowered the price, everyone would wear the full set to show of that amazing 30g they earned.
Maybe that sounds a little rude. All I’m saying is, if you want something bad enough, you’ll drag yourself through the grind to get it. It’s good that his game has these optional grinds to keep people that enjoy them, like myself, interested. But that’s just my opinion.
^ Thanks. Will have to give it a shot.
Sincerly it my only reaosn ikeep playing now to get it so dont reduce the price !! keep it like that !! and even highter maybe lol ! Once it will be to popular.
The only difference between FoW and T3 cultural is that T3 cultural is cheaper .
Sorry but this is wrong. At the current price level T3 is, at best, twice the price of FoW, and at worst, as much as five times the price.
I like that its super expensive.
I’ll just be sad if, once I get it, they decide to lower the price. Would suck something fierce.

Cost of Armor- 15 Plat per piece
Cost of ecto- roughly 1020 Plat
Cost of Shards -roughly 600 Plat
Then of course you had the cheaper mats . However taking the way the economies worked into account FoW is by far the more expensive

You’re not using a base currency to compare monetization in the games. You could buy 1600 plat illicitly from gold farmers for about $150 USD. In GW2, gold spammers are currently advertising 10 gold for 20 dollars, which puts Tier 3 cultural at a minimum price of $200. If you were to go legitimate and use Anet’s in-game currency exchange, it comes out closer to something like $500 USD. That’s more than 3x the peak price of FoW armor.
I’m not sure why you just looked at how much plat FoW costs and assumed that it was more than Tier 3 cultural. GW2 gold is really, really deflated compared to GW1 gold. Tier 3 cultural is too expensive because there are too many gold sinks in the game and not enough money is getting pumped into the actual economy to make Tier 3 relatively more inexpensive.
Whya are you even LOOKING at gold seller sites that has nothing to do with this. Although it does make me wonder about your ethics . Im simply talking about IN GAME economies . Where as a Gold is the highest level coin in Guild Wars 2 a Plat was in Guild Wars 1 . This by default makes FoW more expensive . Im just going to leave it there though as this debate is pointless . Either way T3 is Expensive for a reason
As it stands, $500 in currency exchange is insanity. It doesn’t matter if something may or may not have been worth more, it’s still insanity.
It’s like asking someone which would be a worse way to die, to get hit by 500 lb dropped bomb or to have a wrecking ball dropped right on top of you from the 40th floor. The answer is just as ridiculous as the question.

This is a joke post right?

You could just admit you have no idea what you’re talking about. I know it’s not the easiest thing to do on the internet, but rather than just leaving, you could stop and listen to what others have to say so you gain a better understanding of the topic and can contribute more meaningfully to the discussion.
Actually thought Darmikau was right, But afterwords, FoW armor would be considered 339g where as Cult armor is what? 107g? My math may be wrong since it’s 3 in the morning for me. But regardless.. Assuming the price for FoW armor is 1695 plat.. In GW2 10 silver is 1 plat.. If someone wishes to double check I’d recommend it.
I also never bothered with the FoW didn’t like it so can’t confirm actual costs of it either.. Loved my Primeval armor.

I’m not sure where you’re getting 10 silver = 1 plat from – there’s no direct currency transfer between the games. You have to have a 3rd party mediator, in this case, real money.
Look at gold selling sites (which I don’t condone, but am using to illustrate this example), I’m seeing 1,500 plat selling for $40 USD. The same site, for GW2, is selling 100 gold for $130 USD.
This puts the price of Tier 3 cultural armor at three times the price of FoW armor.
This is really basic math.
Addendum: Going by current exchange rates, it will cost you $437 USD in gems to get the 100 gold necessary for Tier 3 cultural in the BLTC. That means if you’re looking at the illegitimate price of FoW (since there’s no legitimate transfer) and the legitimate price for Tier 3 cultural, Tier 3 cultural is over ten times the price of FoW.
The GW2 economy is really, really deflated.

I am getting 10 silver from 1 plat since if you consider making money is about the same besides selling items is different. 100 copper is 1 silver in this game, If you wanna consider the 1000 copper was 1 plat in the last it’s easier just to go by that 1000 copper was 1gold… Going by gold sellers is absurd to see the least.. You couldn’t trade Anet gems for in game money there either.
Honestly if you want to compare prices its the only way to do it imo… Gold sellers change nor is the money the same in this game. If you look at gold seller sites it’ll cost more since ArenaNet has made it harder and longer to farm the gold unlike in GW1 that I am aware of anyway so yet again another reason it’ll be cheaper there.
Also forget to mention.. Another difference which does help Darmikau – At least in GW1 we could farm the ectos to make the gear which also saved us tons of money, This game you don’t farm mats to buy the gear we just buy them… However this kinda goes back too.. Two different ways the games work…

The stuff at level 80 is supposed to be a matter of time. I’m fine with the price, and I’ve been gathering money for a long time. The skin looks good enough to spend the money, in my opinion, and it gives me a big goal to strive for on my level 80, so I can hardly complain.
Just be patient and play normally. You’ll get the set eventually.
Which armor are we talking about? The cultural armor I’ve seen was all selling for Karma, not gold. I must have missed something.
