Just wondering if it’s worth spending 9K karma on the lvl40 tier1 culture gear?

Perhaps better to save the karma for later…

You can always preview the items (unlike items in the Trading Post listings) and see for yourself how you like the look of them.

That should help you decide on if it’s worth it or not (since you can then preview all of the sets, 1-3, on yourself).

Honestly, it depends.

A lot of Tier 1 Cultural gear does not have a unique skin. So if you just want it for the skin, save your money; you can get the equivalent skin off the TP for a few silver.

However, there are exceptions. As far as I know, the T1 Lion’s Guard and T1 Ebon Vanguard gear do have unique skins. Furthermore, as rare weapons, they’re not exactly bad for that level bracket (L40-50).

9,800 is a lot of karma. However, it’s also incredibly easy to get karma these days. A daily nets you 4,500 karma on one character. So a single T1 Cultural weapon is worth about two dailies of karma.

I actually picked up the Tier 1 Cultural set for my Norn Engineer for the looks. When I reached level 35 to actually use it, I went ahead.

It surprisingly lasted me for a little over 10 levels. Never found anything better during that time, so the stats are pretty decent to wear for awhile while you level.

If you want it just for looks, go for it. It’s not overly expensive and the gear will last you for a little while as well.

Edit: Just realized you are talking about Tier 1 Weapons, not Armor. So nevermind.

They were brutal before but as noted, with the daily karma it’s actually pretty easy to pick up.
