Time for new class
Have you any idea how confusing a new class would be for players? No, better take away existing features and skills and put them behind a lvl gate, that provides a much better experience and will keep players playing for years!
Berserker.
o__o
Heavy armor class, dual wielding Hammers, swords, greatswords, and maces.
Profession mechanic could be 5 seconds of increased attack speed and power, but with 15 – 20 seconds of 25 stacks incurable vulnerability.
I don’t raid, I barely fractal, and I suck beyond words at PvP and WvW.
But I try, and that’s what counts.

Berserker Berserker meta inbound, Berserker class with Berserker armor only, dual hammers!
So, Jason fails at being making a reasonable suggestion without going overboard on the bonus or the downside?
I don’t even know why I’m suggesting heavy armor classes. I’m not a meat-head by nature.
Really I want my monking back, but that’s not going to happen. xD

Shhhh…You can always play a guardian, it’s basically having a monk, amalgamated with the paragon and ritualist. Like playing 3 classes at once ^^

I have one. ;D
It’s level 80 Sword/Shield And I like it a lot.
And I was used to being gawked at for my ‘Monking’… O_o
Prot/Earth Elementalist built around damage reduction and Zealous Benediction.
And a Heal/Prot/ Soul Reaping ‘Healymancer’ as I called it Rolling Protective Spirit Shield of Absorbtion and Glimmer of Light.
Made better monks than some of the monks I ran into in FA, JQ, and RA. xD

I would love to play a new profession. At this point I wouldn’t care if it was chum caster on a boat smaller than the large shark the crew was fishing for. Alas.
Dervish is my absolute favourite GW1 class by miles. It was
so much fun to play and very satisfying to pvp with. I’d make a dervish in the drop of a hat were they to come to GW2
This! Maybe new weapons too like Two-Handed Axe and Spear. : 3

Naraku no Kitsune, Necromancer
Fort Aspenwood (GODS)

I would prefer Arenanet just admits their goal of eliminating the holy trinity is a bomb. Especially when the elementalist, engineer, and guardian have gained more powerful healing capabilities since beta. Then brings back those classic classes and actually dedicates more time to defining their classes.

More than just a team. Arenanet needs to consider restructuring. Lots of dead weight for a subsidiary of the mighty Ncsoft.
We are already 2 years into Guild Wars 2. Isn’t it quite the time to add a new class to the game, considering that 2 years into Guild Wars 1 we had 4 new classes.
I play all classes in the game, including developing them both in PvE and sPvP (4 champion class titles, 5th on the way), so I have quite a clue about how the game works in all aspects. Nevertheless from my experience I can tell most of us(from pvp point of view) are tired of the constant tweaking and tinkering of the current classes, which cannot be balanced anymore within the current game. We are tired of switching from power builds to condi builds to power builds again every “feature” pack. Yes, this patch is more like a normal every 2 months patch, rather than the promised substitute of expansions. We have 2 heavy, 3 medium and 3 magic based classes, so I raise a voice and hope it will be backed up by the community – it’s time to bring in the Dervish(I think they had medium armor, but Anet can hybrid him with Paragon as they kinda did with Monk-Guardian).
Class played and loved by many from GW1 that in proper way can bring finally some balance and fresh blood to both pve and spvp. Class that has the potential to finally fight or substitute warriors and bring a new challenge to the magic based heroes.
We need you Anet to remember what made Guild Wars so successful years ago, which was GvGs and the pool of unique classes to play in versatile styles.
New classes would be a good direction. Doubtful it will happen, especially with the amount of neglect for overall classes over the past 2 years. Only MMO that struggles with 8 classes.
GvG was not what made Guild Wars successful either. Random Arenas, Alliance Battles, and Hall of Heroes were always more popular and had a larger audience until each received a nerf. GvG was a flop once factions was introduced.

War Axe and Glaive! Make it happen, Anet! >:(

Why is it that whenever the old ‘new class’ chestnut get mentioned…someone always suggests monk?
Why is it that whenever the old ‘new class’ chestnut get mentioned…someone always suggests monk?
Because it was a great class and had direct healing / protective spells. The class promoted proper team structure in all aspects of Guild Wars.

Mine’s Ritualist. Which is kinda funny, because when Factions was released I rolled a Rit and played it to 20, but didn’t particularly like it. It wasn’t until four years later when I rolled one on my second account that I came to truly appreciate the profession.
Guild Wars: Ritualist, Necromancer, and Mesmer.
GW2: Mesmer, Ranger, and Guardian.
(Subject to change without notice.)
Always bugged me there’s three light and three medium classes, but only two heavies. Definitely need a new heavy class.
I’m not against a dervish-like or ritualist-like (I know I know, engineer’s turrets and guardian’s weapons), BUT I would by far prefer tons of new (useful) skills to the professions we have, to add some variety to the static builds most people have… (And the long promised swappable weapon skills too pwease.)
Son of Elonia.
Bard and some unarmed melee class.
Maybe something like elemental fist, a class that fights without weapons but gets different attacks depending on element atonement.
There will not be any Dervish, because that is unique to Elona. Also, they are “professions”. “Class” determines what armor you use.
Just to keep symmetry it would have to be heavy. I’ve spent some time trying to come up with something that would have a unique feel and purpose without just grabbing stuff other professions do, and failed. Death-knightish? Just a Necro in heavy. Lots of weapon damage? Hello, Warrior. I did once suggest a wild idea of one with no weapons, where the armor itself becomes the weapon for punching and energy blasts, but then I realized my least fave profs are Ele and Eng since I don’t get my weapon swap …
Good thing I’m not a game designer.
Of course it was GvG, which made GW1. Random Arenas are same as what we have now – 3 monks go afk, AB was just mini WvW and HA – relatively unstructured variation of GvG….heroway only way..
Still that wasn’t quite my point. The game needs to challenge player to play it and who has the most shinning armor with sparkling sword, doing same amount of dps as the 1 month player, who crafted his gear is not a challenge.
As the game has no real end game in PvE it has to be something more in PvP, which excludes the WvW for obvious reasons. 2 years are enough of watching warriors with a fire field as big as the capture point or dodge roll → invulnerability/retaliation guardians running in circles.
There is one thing that brings people over and over back to a game and it’s the pvp, the feeling of outplaying, outachieving another player. Guild Wars 1 had that and mobas cementified that. If we are not getting new pvp modes, then we need that new class, which will shake up the game. Way better than next feature pack to be consisted of another tweaking of traits readjusting the meta to another dominating playstyle, which can be applied on all classes.
Or maybe the real Mesmer? J/k
Lol I can see the amount of complaints now if they re release some of the Mesmer skills.
R.I.P Diversions, Backfire, Power Leak and Empathy. You will be missed.
I’m usually typing on my phone

I went to DoA once.
I had the privelage of tagging along with a guild mate and his wife to get their Obby armors.
Have yet to try The Deep or Urgoz Warren.
And I used to farm the hell out of UW with a solo Spirit Spam necro. ;D
<3 my white storm bow. xD
Oi~!
STORM WEAPONS NEXT, PLZKTHX! xD
