Time to bring back old events in Gw2
I think Lunar New Year should be moved to the Labyrinthine Cliffs, given that the Zepherites were the ones that might have still been in contact with Cantha, and DR has Wintersday just before. Let’s see the remaining Zepherites rebuilding their lives as best they can, and celebrating a festival for looking ahead and new beginnings.
Dragon Bash should be reinstated and moved to The Grove. It might be more contemplative than before, but I think the fall of Mordremoth should be a celebrated day for the sylvari. Their first holiday. The actual date doesn’t have to be exact, so it would make for a good midsummer festival. (And finding the occasional dragon pinata in Nightmare Court territory would make for an interesting touch.)
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
Sure, why not. Who cares for lore implications, it’s all wonky at this point. Bring back the Four Winds festival in the Labyrinthine Cliffs with some NPC dropping a line of dialogue about an Asura Gate being built there and so forth.
Have a Consortium sign on top of the ship and have one NPC mention something like they are expanding in different areas like they tried with Southsun and replicated a Zephyrite ship. Would be a swell place to put back Moa Racing.
Dragon Bash can return annually. Even if we don’t fell another Dragon, we already got 2 and kill 3 of the Lieutenants daily. A dragon kill is a dragon kill.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.

How would reopening that zone and advancing the plot there cause lore problems? I mean, yes, they’d have to remove the big airship and the crystals, but ways around that problem can be found. Maybe put a shrine to the fallen at the top, and use launch pads and such to replace the crystals where they’re needed?

Don’t ask me. From the several threads I’ve seen, every time bringing some old event back comes up, there are always people that say it messes with the lore.

Bring back the Shatterer invasion of Ashford so we can PvP in the PvE world again, plus laugh at level 80’s Eir and Rytlock instakilling level 5-10 players.
Well, maybe not Eir anymore.
Why are some people getting toxic at the idea of implemeting old, long forgotten content into the current game?
Palador’s suggestions and explanations are really good and do make a lot of sense, actually. (I think we all agree that the events would have to be altered to fit the current timeline…)

Some people have really strong opinions about lore, which might differ from e.g. my weak opinions; that doesn’t make the people or their opinions “toxic.”
I’m all in favor of ANet having a festival for the downtime between releases, perhaps one that has a variable start date. However, it’s not free to design & implement & maintain them; even the ones we have now require testing & other forms of attention. Just returning to the Labryinth Cliffs, without any content, takes effort… effort that might be better spent on something else.
Personally, I feel bad for Suriel the Blazing Light, who has been training in Lion’s Arch for years, without a chance to get even with me. So, sure, it would be great to see the Crown Pavilion opened up again, be great to zip through the Cliffs, and so on. I’m not imagining that any of that will be in the game until sometime after LS4 is underway, if not much later.
