Q:

To create a full set, excluding accessories, takes 40 days! Over a month!
It’s not really grinding, it’s just extremely annoying. If you want 3 characters to have full celestial gear, you’ll be camping an alt at a Place of Power for 120 days, NOT COOL!
Givers and Sentinels never had this sort of system, why the sudden hatred to crafting?

Can I get an official response of why?

unless you got multiple alts multiple fotm dailies everyday, getting the trinkets would take pretty long as well. Not to mention the guild comms for the accessories will be at least 4 weeks.

If anything, all future gear will be obtained like this because getting a full set of exotics in a single day back at launch ruined the game for “dedicated players”, hence the introduction of ascended gear.

You could always buy the crafted gear, then when you make it yourself, sell it.

But that would be ascended gear, not to mention you have the weaker but still usable exotic accessories with similar stats to it’s ascended brethren.

Besides, the Triforge Pendent you can flat out buy.

Ascended items are not hard to get, you essentially spent 1-2 hours to kill the jade quarry and get a random chance of an ascended item… and a guaranteed chance after 10 days.

The grind you are describing in PvE is non existent compared to PvP.

I heard that the celestial chest piece has 6% crit damage, 1% more than berserkers. How much power, precision, and crit damage does a full celestial set have compared to a berserkers? I’m curious to know because my ele has 110% crit damage and 50% base crit chance, and I think that might be a little overkill, so I’m wondering if this celestial set would be better?

All that crit damage isn’t going to help without power and precision. So chance are glass cannon isn’t going to use celestial.

Celestial is ideal for balance class(elementist, guardian) or power/condition hybrid dps. I use celestial jewel on my necromancer.

It’s true I wont have as much raw damage in celestial as in berserkers, but it’s still worth exploring the balanced approach vs the glass. My theory is that if I can have the same crit damage and maintain close to 50% crit chance through fury, then the trade-off to survivability (vit, tough) and the magic find would be worth it. Also this is for my ele, and they benefit from all the stats like you said.
