After Mawdrey and the Star I suggest we get a thing that eats tiny snowflakes next. Forget Dragonite Ore, the real inventory killers are these little buggers.
Anyone found use for them? Will they ever be useful? Destroying them seems to be a waste.

Suggestion: make the frostbitten tools drop snowflakes depending on the tier of node, thus getting less tiny snowflakes.

They’re a crafting material, so they can be used for crafting, sold to other players or sold to merchants. You might also be able to throw them in the mystic forge but I haven’t checked and the wiki doesn’t say.

I think we’re unlikely to get anything like mawdrey and the star because those were created to address the fact that ascended materials can’t be traded or sold to merchants so if you had too many the only options were to keep them forever or delete them, which seemed wrong for something that’s supposed to be a top tier item.

Keep in mind that the gifts will still drop some desirable items for most people, and if the forge-recipe remains available after the event, it’ll eventually eat through the surplus of snowflakes, and promotion from the tiny snowflakes may become a viable option. Since these are very abundant, it’ll also keep the higher tiers from drastically increasing in value, and leave the gifts at a more attainable value. It’ll be interesting to see how well they balance-out in the next 6~ months.

As for the storage issue, I just list all of mine at X amount on TP, which I’ve probably done for couple hundred stacks at least thus far. If they ever reach X amount, that’s nice; if not, no biggie.

But Tiny Snowflakes arent used in the forge recipe to make gifts/endless potions, only t2-5.

t1 flakes are used to promote into t2 flakes, which propably wont be feasable for a long time.
Their next use is promoting minor wintersday sigils and runes into mayor ones but the inclusion of mystic coins makes this recipe also redundant, apart from the fact that every time you get minor sigils/runes, you also get mayor ones (from gifts).
The last sink are cooking recipes and Candy Corn Icecream is propably the best one as it gives +15% exp from kills and 5% karma gain. As you can use it from lvl 5, its a popular food for people leveling their alts in eotm. A couple of months ago, when tiny flakes were 10 silver and candy corn 1 silver, i had no problem crafting and selling 1-3 stacks per week for 50-60 silver each.
But thats not an adequate sink either because there is just enough Vanilla beans and icecream base on the tp to get rid of 2-3% of the current flake supply and that pile will get a whole lot bigger until the end of wintersday in 3 weeks.

Hmm? Yes, that’s what I already said: “if the forge-recipe remains available”… “promotion from the tiny snowflakes may become a viable option”.

I’d hate to do that… ;P

That’s the “problem” there, and it probably won’t exist again throughout the year. Since they’ll be dirt-cheap for a long time, then it’ll also be dirt-cheap-er (ha) to promote them — if need-be. It’ll probably hinge on the sinks of the higher-tier flakes, and those sinks may be somewhat appealing for quite some time.
