There is sure a lot of random update for a game with event base on timer, A single update can push the event back by hours into who know when it will spawn. My question is why is Anet have such disregard for it fan base, by updating almost every single day especially in prime time slot.

They needed to fix a thief trait that allows them to kill us faster.. when so many classes are still buggy from launch.. smh

What bothers me is this “New build available in an hour or so”. Just say 30 minutes since that’s what you meant anyway. That “hour OR SO” is just to annoy anybody trying to do events.

There was a 1hr warning for this one. Now if you logged in after it there not much Anet can do the 30 min warning should be enofe for you to plan it out.

It’s not that bad really. It’s a 6 month old game. People either complain about bugs not being fixed, other people complain about there being updates and fixes.

I love that if you’re in an instance and a new build launches, it gives you 3 hours and doesn’t just kick you out. I also really like that updates don’t come with 6 hours of downtime like on Diablo or other games.

we complain caz everytime they update it screw around with the timer, why can’t update just leave the timer as it is.

It was a much needed random update to fix a gamebreaking bug.

We failed a guild mission because of the update. We ended up being in the middle of it, thinking we still had 20 minute left before the update and BAM. Seriously we needed like 2 minutes more before it kicked us out.

If we’d known there was going to be an earlier reset, we’d not have started.

agreed, happened to our guild as well. we killed the first guy of a tier 1 bounty, and some of us initially received guild commendations. we were then kicked, and when logging back in, some guildies reported not having the commendations in their inventory any longer. some reported a complete reset of the day’s activities.

New major patches, like the one we got Tuesday, will always have a number of minor patches to fix problems that didn’t show up until the player base gets their hands on it. This will happen every single time a major patch comes out in every MMO I’ve ever played.

I have no idea why people are surprised by this.

Yeah, we could all migrate to WoW, where major patches extended the “normal” 5-hour downtime, sometimes to double or even triple that amount. The worst I saw personally was 12 hours extra beyond the 5. No, thanks. I’ll stick with minimal to no downtime and hot fixes. I, for one, prefer ANet’s method to the industry standard.

My bf was in Fractals and got the 1 hour popup,.. of course when he got to Maw 30 minutes later he had 2 minutes before he was going to kicked.

At the same time we were at the end of our guild bounty event and it came up.

I don’t mind patches at all, but PLEASE try to give an accurate time, or at least say that it is an estimate or something.
