… What if :

- We were able to save build templates
- We were able to designate two of those builds to a hotkey
- We were able to use that hotkey, to switch between builds…
… on the fly, in or out of combat.

I thought that, instead of spending resources trying to improve skills, or builds themselves to the point where balance could become an issue, how about allowing interchangeable builds?

Rules:

- This functions like a weapon swap. Cool-down on build swaps limited to 10 seconds.
- Builds used MUST contain the SAME weapon sets
- Runes and sigils can be interchangeable

Switching builds in-combat is a horribly bad idea. Can you even imagine the number of exploits people will find with that system?

Probably, it could be narrowed down even further though.

- No armor changes
- No armor rune changes
- No sigil changes
- Traits ONLY

Traits by themselves don’t hold enough of a change to warrant brokenness, its when they’re used in combination with specific armors and/or sigils.

This coupled with say a visual cue every time someone switches could work? I’m not sure this would even remotely work, just seeing what paths we can go down.

Build templates for sure need to be introduced soon imo. Templates is what is holding me back from truly exploring all the possibilities on builds. Not saying it is a game breaker and I can’t work on builds (pen and paper good templates too) but an in game template would be nice for exploring all the trait/skill/weapon combinations that GW has to offer in a convenient way.

If this was limited to utility skills and maybe traits, I think this would be an interesting idea. Right now the game is very much “build wars”, with the ability to adapt to and defeat the opponent being very limited. If we could switch utility sets while in combat, and perhaps traits as well, it might allow better counter-play.
