Here are a few ideas:

1- “Hello there fellow adventurer, want to quest together?”
2- “I see you are helping farmer John, ill tag along with you!”
3- “There’s a jumping puzzle nearby, want to check it out?”
4- “Thanks for the help, hope you dont mind if I add you to my friends list

I never get why people complain that this MMO promotes no social-interaction. The game cant force someone to be friendly, that’s up to the PLAYER only. If you want people to talk more, start by doing so yourself. Stop waiting for someone else to initiate conversation.

I invite you to chat with the next player you bump into, who knows, you might start awesome friendships by doing so. Cant hurt to try

People complain about a lack of player interaction in PVE? I haven’t had so many spontaneous teammates or local conversations since playing SWG.

I’ll admit I haven’t been reading the forums too much, but is this really a complaint? If anything, this is what GW2 excels at. There is always communication going on and if you’re playing at prime hours on a high-pop server there’s always people around you. If you’re not communicating with others it’s only your fault – there’s plenty of opportunities for that.

If the complaint was that the party system is completely unnecessary outside of dungeons I could see that. Going to low population servers will make playing with friends more rewarding and less of a zerg.
