Everyone who is hating on guild wars 2 should know that as of the moment, GW2 is the highest quality free mmo out there. i mean sure you pay $60 but that carries out to months upon months of endless fun and epic gameplay. for all those P2P lovers, i say this. You can have your kittenty WoW, i will be rocking 8 classes in gw2 all level 80.

By looking at the amount ncsoft posted it appears that on average players pay more for this game than they would a subscription based game. I am sure there are players that only pay for the game and never use the gemstore but the profits show they are making more than $15.00 a month per person.

Basically some players are subsidizing the cost so this game is not free.

An interesting conclusion, but how did you arrive at it? You can look up NCSoft earnings reports to see how much GW2 brings in, but where did you get the number of players to divide by to get a figure that the “average” player is paying more than $15 per month? Surely you realize that you’d need an accurate number of players to draw that conclusion? Please share that with us.

It is the highest quality MMO in the indutry, in both the free and paid market. May not be because the game is flawless but simply because the western MMO industry have always been flawed.

GW 1 and 2 are simply good games imho, no game is without flaws and I’ve never seen an MMO without a flaw, personally.

The typical mindset for people of a game like guild wars 2 is it sucks because its free after you buy it, the reality of it is. even pay to play games can suck but people have the other mindset of “Oh boy, this game is giving me content because im paying for it. lets keep going.” my personal mindset is this. “I dont give a kitten about pay to play, this game is the best game ive played in years, pay to play games are boring and dull to me.”

GW2 certainly isn’t the best MMO out there, but where else can I pay £40 and get THIS much out of a game? Truly stellar.

When the first GW came out, it was easily the best game in the ‘no monthly subs’ class. And GW2 has the same distinction. As I’ve posted before, I’m not worried about the other games coming out – they’re more of the same. They aren’t GW2.
