I’m not sure if this has been suggested, but since this is only on that, “a suggestion” it’s not very important if it has been discussed before.

What I would like to bring up is a sprinting mechanic that would use endurance as it’s duration meter. Sprinting could provide 45-50% faster running speed when toggled, but drain your endurance at a medium-high rate.

I believe it would open even a few more doors to combat tactics as you could add runes or sigils that would increase endurance recovery rates instead of restoring percentages out right like the sigil of energy would. Using sprint would give classes who lack alot of mobility the option to move around faster in and out of combat. Players would have to gauge when they should use sprint and when they could use dodge since both would use endurance. Sprinting could also have it’s own animation and while sprinting you can’t attack until you run out of endurance, let go of the toggle button and/or stop moving. To add even a bit more imagination, some classes could be given new traits to replace some that are unpopular with sprinting attack options or lowered endurance expenditure. Hopefully mostly for light classes.

I understand immediately that a Sigil of Energy could provide some abuses since you could change out weapons to sprint even longer, but I’m sure Anet developers wouldn’t have a problem nerfing those to make up for the mechanic change. I wouldn’t mind the trade off myself.
