What if your dungeon token reward was limited to 60 tokens a day? You couldn’t do another path or switch characters to get anymore tokens from running that dungeon. Once you got 60 tokens, you would have to wait for reset.

Sound a bit odd? This is what Laurels and Guild Missions feel like to me.

What if dungeon weapons were taken out of the vendor, and made a rare random drop from the dungeon completion chest? You couldn’t choose what weapon you wanted and the chance for a weapon to drop was normally 1 person out of your party of 5?

Does this also sound odd? This is what fractal weapons feel like to me (and I’m being lenient here).

What if Mystic Coins were made account bound? Actually, we just now call them laurels.

Do things feel like this for anyone else? We have systems already in place to help prevent the frustration for those with multiple alts, or want to get a specific skin, yet these new currencies seems to be ignoring what has already been done. The game used to allow those with alts to keep up on all their alts, or do what they wanted without worrying about the nagging in the back of their mind. Now, if you want to get the most out of it, you have to keep up with the daily restrictions that you can’t bypass, no matter how much effort you put into it.

Things just seem very odd and disjointed to me. I still love the world and the content in the game, and how fun it is, but things feel more out of place with every patch.

There is already a lot to do each day. Personally I don’t mind the barrier. It motivates me to log in to get it done. If it was just another endless thing I could spam, I would probably never end up doing it.

To me, I want to play and go have fun in the game. But now these barriers tell me I have to do something right now or else I will never have another chance to get the laurel for the 27th of Feb. There is no way to make up a missed day with the new currencies, where I couldn’t care less about dungeons because I can just go do more of it later for more effort.

Sometimes I just don’t feel like doing anything specific and just run around taking screenshots, but the game seems to make sure to punish me if I ignore what it wants me to do.

See, that’s the thing. It feels mandatory, but it really isn’t. Missing your monthly really doesn’t hinder you. You might feel like you will fall behind other players, but consider for a moment just how exactly that could be the case? There is no rush to gear up for end game content. Just because you want something does not mean you need something.
