Already we have fractal tokens, pvp tokens, WvWvW tokens, tokens for each dungeon and these are all exchangeable for rewards designed to encourage repeated activity in these areas. This seems to work though it annoys some people if causing grind.
The fact is that the big selling point for this game, the big game changer was supposed to be dynamic events yet there are many empty zones with dynamic events and no one there or group events with very low turnout that sometimes they just have to be ignored.
The impression I get is that the dev team seem to think the way to encourage more activity in zones is to create changing dailies in regards to zone activity with rewards in the way of laurels in this coming update. I’m a bit late with this post as a suggestion or maybe too early as criticism but this idea again is poorly thought out by Anet in my mind as it doesn’t seem to challenge the zone problem head on.
Really to give anyone encouragement the bottom line is a direct reward for events. The thing is we kind of have this in game already in the form of karma. Karma did seem like a good idea right from the early days of marketing but you can amass it fast from everything in game nearly yet imo the rewards for it are bad.
Crafting isn’t for everyone so material for karma are not just the answer and most people want armour and weapons and jewelry but the only end game exotic armor is in Orr and it is poor imo.
To conclude to bring back the vision Anet seemed to have for karma in game and encourage players to get involved in events in all zones Karma should ONLY be rewarded for events and hearts And we need better exotic level 80 rewards for karma, especially armour. I’m pretty sure zones would be full of busy events if players saw a better reward for karma and THAT EVENTS are the only way to get it.
I use forums to give my opinions but I mostly avoid discussing over
them due to those less than polite individuals out there and their offensive attitude.
