Please let us use tomes of knowledge directly as currency…I have 1500+ of these things in my bank. And no, I don’t want to make anymore alts, and no, I don’t want to make any more legendaries so I don’t need any spirit shards (I already have a buttload of those as well).

I don’t care if the tomes are used to buy ascended gear, minis, toys, skins, etc. Please just give us a tomes vendor who sells some cool stuff for tomes. Either that or allow tomes to be traded in for other types of non-gold currencies, like dungeon tokens, karma, laurels, pristine fractal relics, proofs of heroics, etc.

I know that there are other vet players out there who basically have the same issue…tons of tomes but they don’t need/want anymore alts or legendaries so they just take up space, but they don’t want to delete the tomes either.

Please, Anet, this is my number one request atm.

^This, tired of useless items that are basically useless currency. I have more kitten in my inventory than actual useful items.

Make tomes tradeable, I can take them then.

Better yet, broaden the things you can get with spirit shards (have loads as well), kill two birds with one stone.

Turn them into Spirit Shards, those are a currency so they don’t take up bank space and they’re more likely to get new uses than tomes.

^this. It is far more likely that Spirit Shards will have more things to buy with them in the future than ToK. If you want to save space use them for Shards, if you don’t want Shards, you’ll just have to keep a hold of them.

What about the people who want to make alts?
Just trade them for spirit shards.

if it’s a 1:1 trade then sure.

I might add that Tomes are also used for certain Guild Hall upgrades.

To the people saying I should just use them for spirit shards because Anet MIGHT one day add more items to spirit shard vendors. Uhh…that’s why I made this post lol…because as of right now, there’s absolutely nothing that I need spirit shards for. If Anet decided to add cool things to buy for spirit shards, then that’s totally cool.

Again, the point of this post is for people WHO DO NOT WANT ANYMORE ALTS (repeat, read that part again before posting a reply saying ‘why not just make more alts’), and who ARE NOT MAKING ANYMORE LEGENDARIES. This isn’t a post about what might be or what could happen or what may be added later.

This is a post ASKING Anet to allow us to use tomes to directly or indirectly buy cool things like ascended gear, skins, minis, etc. because there CURRENTLY is not a way to do this and as far as I know, I haven’t read anything about any updates on whether or not Anet will be allowing players to buy cool rewards with tomes, or allow us to trade them for something other than spirit shards, or if they will be adding cool rewards like the ones I mentioned to spirit shard vendors.

PS, I don’t care about guild hall upgrades. I almost never go to any of my guilds’ guild halls, and even if I do, there’s usually nobody else there. Besides, that’s for the guild/guild hall…I want something for the individual player.

PPS, Again, this isn’t about what could happen or may happen…this is a post based on what the situation currently is with tomes. Right now, we’re in a state of just guessing and wondering whether or not Anet will or will not allow tomes to be used as currency. I made this post to try to request Anet to make tomes as a currency a reality (or be able to trade tomes for other currencies besides spirit shards, or to add better rewards to spirit shard vendors, etc.).

Again, please read my post carefully before posting replies/suggestions about what I should do because of what is likely to happen or what may happen, etc.

And again, there is no need to add ToK as a currency. If ANet is going to do anything, it will be with Shards, not ToK. They have a currency use already.

Yea tomes already got 2 options nr1 alts you dont want those so that leaves nr2 spirit shards, it dont need anything more then that mate.
Im not crying that I got 2k captain council commendations that will never again find any use.

And I dont think we will see arena net add ascended/minis for spirit shards any time soon

Wish I could take your spirit shards. I’d turn that around into several thousand gold within a month.
