I have tons of them, and I’m pretty sure that majority of players does. They just stand in my inventory and keep stacking and stacking… Why don’t you make them useful? For instance, one consumption of Tome of Knowledge could grant you 50 000 – 100 000 Mastery xp (Both central tyria and HOT). Let’s be honest… HoT mastery XP is pure grind and farm. I don’t like doing stories because there’s so much content that I can’t skip. Therefore the only proper way for me to get the mastery XP would be through use of Tomes of Knowledge. What do you think about this suggestion?

Or make them sellable/buyable, and I would literally buy all of your tomes,
Would be useful for some of my 70 characters...

I do key runs myself. Once a week times 8 tomes per key run is 32 tomes a month used up. Takes maybe 10-15 minutes and sometimes I get something nice. If not, there’s always next week.

As a key farmer myself, I’ve found myself in a Tome of Knowledge shortage. I wish I had stacks of them.

Tomes of Knowledge exist so that veterans can shortcut the leveling process on alt toons. If you don’t create alts, then you can consume them for spirit shards.

Those are two valuable uses; if those don’t work for you, just delete them. Like any other reward in this game, the value is in the eyes of the beholder.

I have one in inventory, only because I was awarded it in WvW this morning and haven’t used it on the toon I’m currently leveling.

I’m not opposed to them being used for more things, just don’t remove the level-up functionality from them, or make any added functionality “better” than a level-up, forcing me to choose how to use them. Or hoard them, in the case of best-use-indecision.

Edit: I am accumulating them on the alt accounts, where I do not add character slots and all five toons are level 80 already. I barely use their shards, so don’t need any more. So if a non-shard, non-XP, works-with-Core use was added, I’d be good with that.

and when all else fails, right-click/delete them. It takes time to make a new stack, its not like it happens overnight.

If spirit shards had more uses than promoting mats then more tomes would be used to convert to spirit shards. They could be used to buy PvE boosts for example, such as increased speed for X minutes or increased harvesting boosts for X minutes.

At the very least, can we please have a “Right Click” → “Consume All” function?

I would get RSI / Carpel Tunnel if i had to click through all the stacks i have – i have literally thousands of tomes.

Wow, I wish I had stacks of tomes, I have a few but not enough for all of my characters Would be great to be able to buy some!

I have no tomes on my account. Though like @Avigrus said, I think the best course of action is just an option to consume all tomes. That way at least you could clear out an entire stack with 2 clicks without just deleting them

Can they convert them to mastery points? 100=1 mastery point?

If you make 52 characters and sit on them for a year, you’ll have enough scrolls to key run every week, forever \0/. Don’t tell anet

The only thing I want is consume all. Spirit shards are fine for the most part since they can be converted to gold and before anyone says it’s annoying, there’s where most of the value comes from.
