Hello. My question is will Tomes of Knowledge (1 level) be changed after the release of HOT. Will it be converted into hero points like the Scroll of Knowledge (1 Skill point)
I’ve purchased many black lion chests over the last year and I get these often as well as pvping from rank 1-60 for the sole reason of just having these to create charecters as I see fit because I can not stand exploration or most PvE content.

TLDR:
Will my Tomes of Knowledge give me 1 level after the HOT release?

Will using these tombs progress my characters level. I planned on using them on my revenent . Im sure alot of people that took the time to pvp did as well.

They will still progress your character level if under 80. You can level your revenant up to 80 with tomes, but after reaching 80, they won’t give “levels” since your XP will be “converted” into mastery line progress. Tomes used after 80 will give progress (not a full mastery level, but some percentage).

They won’t give exp for mastery points. Looks like they will be useful for under level 80s only.

We wanted to know if all those consumables, like Tomes of Knowledge and Writs of Experience, would help players unlock all of these masteries faster. The short answer is that they won’t. The experience bar is going away and is being replaced by the mastery training bar. This training bar is in no way tied to experience, but fills up by going out and doing stuff in the world. So any item that gives you experience won’t help you train masteries.

I just heard it from some tester who was able to obtain/use a tome during beta. He got some % on his mastery line and iirc some dev said that those % will most likely get lowered when HoT comes out. But well, Jon should know what he’s talking about, so maybe that has been changed.

Yah, I heard that also and gave the same answer as you on previous posts. But it seems they’ve changed it since then. (That interview is dated the 8th of March). Maybe they were concerned about people who have stacks of tomes using them and the mastery points they will get at first login to max out Tyrian mastery lines.

So what should we do with them?

I never used the Tomes much, as I really enjoy the leveling process, meandering through zones, doing hearts and clearing areas. Fine, I’m a freak.

But the Scrolls of Knowledge were key to keeping in ‘specific’ mats for the mystic forge on an ‘as needed’ basis. Those items don’t go in collections, so I don’t want stacks of them littering my bank.

I’m still not really clear as to what we then use to buy all the things we used to buy with skill points?

So we’ll still be able to level with Tomes of Knowledge? Lots of people are saving them to use on the revenant.
