You are level 9. Bundles are available past I think about level 5.

HIS NAME’S ROBB. I still haven’t found him!

Also, you get transformed in Metrica Province as well, which is… kind of annoying. I really never liked that heart, anyways.

No I got it. I avoided it for a reason. It is a big hyperbole and not helpful to the true problem. That the removal of bundles in the leveling areas removed some of the flavor of those areas. So you do not get the feeling of the race that you once did.

Instead of adjusting some of the events that had bundles in a immersive fashion(Feed the cow with a collectible event) or move events unable to be changed without using bundles. We get events that are just silly “Entertain a cow(Help Farmer Diah)” or outright removed “Golem Chess. (Support Doola golemancing research)”

Hopeful ArenaNet understands that is why we are making satire out of it. That there is actually reason that some players are truly upset about.

Actually, with the update to the NPE, I found a lot of the events that lost their bundles to be more… reactive and immersive. It’s a step in the right direction, but the removal of all bundles and similar things (RC Chess) was a bit too far.

An example, in Metrica Province, would be the Aerodynamics Lab Heart. Instead of killing Sparks to grab Charged Nodes and powering the Beacons, you now kill a Spark, gain a buff that lasts around 20s and gives you a noticeable character effect, then can transfer the power to the Beacon without picking up anything.

It’s more fluid, but it did have the nasty side effect of removing fun things (although I think the cows are a bit too fat now).

I really like that Metrica heart now. The little weather system following you around is awesome.

I have only played Metrica Province so my experience was based upon that. From what I have read they were hit hard the most. I do enjoy the change to Aerodynamics Lab Heart. My Feeling when I experienced this was oh this is new I was a little confused at first then I looked at my chat window and hovered over the buff and I got it.

The following Hearts though I think need to be adjusted.

Support Doola’s golemancing research

  • The RC Golem Controller(Golem Chess) should have been moved elsewhere. I understand why players were confused but it is was something diffrent and fun. Perhaps move it to Rata Sum.

Assist PR&T Esoterics with ooze research

  • Honestly I find the key card more confusing then the bundles. I also find it a bit annoying. I had to use a key to show nametags for the devices to understand them. Perhaps if they made the key card devices different colors I would be ok with this event. I just really would miss the gun.

Perhaps I am being a bit harsh due to I really enjoyed Golem Chess and I was not prepared for the amount of changes they made to Metrica Province.

Yes, I agree completely. The entire system for that heart is both cute and more fluid than before without worrying about other players stealing your Nodes.

But my point was that they did a great job implementing that, while also removing things that weren’t necessary such as the RC Chess.

Actually, the Golem Transformation Heart is now a Golem Pet Heart which does everything for you, meaning you run around pressing F. While spamming F is less immersive than becoming a Golem, the transformation was not very friendly (lots of delays, roots, and other non-GW2 combat things).

I enjoyed having the pet golem, though. It made me think of what I really wanted as an Asura (having a permanent golem following you if you have the elite on your bar, think Mr. Sparkles or Scruffy).

I find it the opposite. I liked becoming the little golem. Was much more fun than just running around pushing f with a golem following.

My main problem with the chess is that they didn’t compeletly remove it. There are at least two npcs (one of them the heart npc) that still mention is. If you’re going to remove something, at least remove it completely. That said, I do want the chess back though.

Imagine my shock and horror last night, as my girlfriend and I were doing map completion in Metrica (on alts), and I gleefully exclaimed to her “How about a nice game of golem chess”, only to find out… NOPE! DENIED!

We were both very disappointed.

While I admit the ooze research used to be a little confusing, it’s even more so now. Instead of the gun you used to receive, you now have to go to an NPC and get a colored key card which lets you activate a third of the turrets around the area. Blue key card activates blue turrets, for example.

The turrets, however, look identical. They aren’t actually the color they are, you just have to trust that it is a “blue turret” because when you get close enough you can see it written in the air above the turret.

The change brought absolutely no increase in clarity or simplicity to that heart. If anything, it’s worse. I may have missed it, but I didn’t see any indication of how many times I can use a key card before I have to get a new one (3?), and instead of using an experimental weapon directly, I’m activating turrets for obscure reasons.
