Don’t know if this has already been discussed to death but yeah, there are very few Achievemnts for Mastery Points in core tyria. And even then, those Achievemnts take a long time to do such as the diving goggles one. The collections ones are laughable at best. And TT is practically impossible. So instead I decided to buy LWS2 cuz it was the only way to get enough mastery points to get max rank. Bummer.

There are around 18 extras. Not having LS2 does reduce that wiggle room by quite a bit though.

Join a guild like Evos and get the 4 points for TT. It’s free and you might end up enjoying it.

DO. NOT. DO. LWS2.

I have the entire season unlocked. But the achievements are so buggy and masochistic. It’s asinine to do them.

Your best bet for easy mastery points is Triple Trouble. Just keep an eye out for those organizing for them on LFG. Weekends are usually best. I was scared trying it out for the first time after hearing all the horror stories. But really, it’s a breeze when it’s organized.

I agree. I am stuck now and can’t advance. I don’t do fractals or dungeons and that seems to be where most of the points are left (for me).

The silly thing is that I play the life out of this game. I have eighteen characters and all are L80. Twelve have world completion (two of them at the time you needed WvW) and those twelve have their elite specialisations. It’s not like I am slack. I am just not good at jumping puzzles or dungeons. So I don’t really have enough ways to earn the missing points. I did get out of my comfort zone. I ended up getting the Tequatl achievement and I did the Silverwastes jumping puzzle – things I didn’t think I would ever do – but I am stuck now. I can get a few more but it will not be enough.

I wish there was a way for us to gain the masteries through XP. I wouldn’t care if it was a thousand times slower but at least I would know I would get there one day.

If you’re on a US server, I can help with some of the fractal ones. You say you’re not good at them, but I’ve yet to meet a person I can’t teach to be good at the basic fractals, up to level 20.

Most of the bugs have been fixed since release. Those that are left you hardly ever encounter. Sure, some of them are Hard to get, but they justify what you said here in NO GIVEN WAY…

When HoT launched I already hat 50 and you only need 49. Just by playing what I usually play. I basically play a little of everything so I don’t really get why people have issues with that. Especially the notion of “no I will never do x”. There are more than enough easy achievements by which you get the mastery points.

Additionally “And even then, those Achievemnts take a long time to do such as the diving goggles one.” Seriously? Just get a list of them from the wiki or where ever and it takes maybe 30 mins to do them all.

You are an old player and you should know Tyria inside and out by now? Regarding masteries, you want to advance but your not prepared to do what it takes. Sharpen your blade and do those challenge! Gl

LOL, yeah, if you’re happy to exploit Mesmer porting especially the Not So Secret, otherwise you’re just trolling.

Not sure why 1 or 2 mastery points weren’t given for the new Shatterer stuff. I’m short 2 points to fully maxing core Tyria myself and was waiting on the update hoping Shatterer would give some, but nope.

The worst one was it’s all about time and it seemed impossible at first until you realize you can buy fire elemental powder for the second phase. Unfortunately, if you defeat the first wave of mobs in the first part instead of having some recovery downtime you’re immediately swarmed again (defeating the purpose of clearing out those mobs in the first place) so it’s best to leave one alive and kite it outside the circle. Just keep doing this and make sure the NPC’s stay in the blue. I did this before HoT on a thief too (came in handy in the third phase) and I had literally seconds to spare.

The dragon ones I did on an elementalist. They were challenging yet fair. The second worst achievement was the one where you couldn’t get hit by wind or sandpits but it’s doable. I don’t like events where I’m locked out of my profession’s mechanics but Caithe was fun, but shadowstep and infiltrator’s arrow would have really helped for that achieve.

The rest were relatively easy (turn camera shake off for chapter 6 and get your positioning down) and chapter 5 seems buggy but you need to learn the mechanics to get them.
