Too many tomes of knowledge...
You can just delete them right O.o? i have tons of those books and yet i still explore because it’s a choice, and that’s something GW 2 has that I love, it gives you the options to level through your own choices, i have a friend who has not done a drop of pve after he could join pvp, because he hates pve very much, I love pvp as well but i’m still exploring because i find it fun. The point is this is a personal choice :p
If Anet would allow it, I’d take a huge chunk of those off your hands.

I am really happy for all these people playing PvP only and having stacks of tomes, but I’m even more happy for all those people who were forever asking for instant 80 consumables, XP collectors and more accessible tomes for alts, especially after the NPE update. At 8 lvl 80s, I’m still creating alts and I find these tomes extremely useful.
2 advices to those with stacks of tomes:
- Key farming.
- Skillpoint to gold.
Just view them as another stack of skillpoint scrolls and give them to whichever of your 80s could use a few extra of those .
Or just wait one day if expansion with raising of level cap is announced.

This.
Keyfarm with tomes is really nice, you just need 8 tomes per run, maybe less if you do a bit of leveling.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
It’s probably intended as a way for veteran players to be able to bypass the dumbed down levels of the NPE. Otherwise… if you have no other use for them, treat them as skill point scrolls. I think leveling in PvE replenishes your health, too, so if you’re really cunning you might be able to use them as heals – I may be getting confused with something else, though, so verify this before you rely on it.
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
key farm with them…. you’ll need about 500 for a key or two…
Playing the engineer “as intended” is simply not viable.
You can use PvP awarded tomes to level up alts, but in my opinion they are meant to grant PvP players to earn skill points for various use.
If you go PvE (dungeon, open world events), you will earn XP and lvl up at a rythm that is comparable (or a bit faster) to the time required to complete 1/8th of a reward track. The track tomes make up for the lack of XP earning in PvP.
Why does this keep coming up? The options are as plain as day. Store them for later use, turn them to skill points and cash in, delete them, or use them for key farming. I’m failing to see a problem here.

QFT.
Of all the surplus items in game, these are arguably the most useful. No problem here.
im not sure why so many people have a problem with ToKs. If you know you are never going to use it to level, then just double click (consume) it. Then it will no longer be in your inventory taking up space. There is no max on the number of skill points you can have so it really doesnt matter. In fact, you and your pvp friends can have a contest to see who can get to 10k skill points first.
Gates Of Madness
Jewelcrafting to 500!
One idea would be that we get a reward chest everytime we level 80 again and again and again. It seems a bit silly that after 80 we still gain exp but there’s nothing more to it than one lame skill point!
Stop trying to take away one of my favorite rewards, thanks.

They’re one of my favorites as well. There are so many uses for them. No complaints about the number of these I get.

I wish <3

OP, ^^^^ this is a good way to use them to generate gold.
Considering how useful they are, why anyone would ever consider complaining is beyond me. Also, consider maybe it’s an incentive to get players TO LEVEL in sPvP and not just PvE?
Who complains about getting skill points????
key farm with them…. you’ll need about 500 for a key or two…
500?
you only need to be level 20 for a key.
500 tombs would be 25keys that’s not bad…if you have no other use for them.
For people like me who have done map completion more than once already, we would love more of those.

Level 10 actually, to get a key from the personal story.

Completion of the level 10 racial story.
So 500 tomes divided by the 8 needed after leaving the starter instance is 62 keys.

Not really, it’s because buying trait books or unlocking any new skill they add requires SP. Having these in there means a person who only plays PvP doesn’t have to run off to PvE to get them.
For people who play both PvE and PvP it means they don’t have to choose between “do I go and level in PvE or do I play some PvP?”. With the tomes they can choose to play PvP without having to sacrifice leveling.
If you throw these away instead of using them you might just find yourself without enough SP the next time they add skills/traits.
