The rate at acquiring bloodstone dust is, in my opinion, too high. There just isn’t alot of uses for bloodstone dust aside from the occasional ascended weapon crafting, backpiece mystic forging, and consumable crafting.

Why aren’t we getting more non-ascended recipes that allow us to substitute certain materials with bloodstone dust?

Everyone agrees with you and eagerly awaits the update that will rectify this.

And imo, there’s entirely too much bloodstone and far too little dragonite. Empyreal fragments are just right.

Maybe you need to try doing other things besides champ farming?
I use bloodstone dust as fast as I can get it, and IMHO, it does not drop enough.

Champions don’t necessarily take a long time to kill. For the most part, any champion that drops a champ bag will give dust. That means that if anyone were to run several champion events over the time span of an hour, they’d easily have more than a stack of dust (probably 2 or 3 by then).

Conversely, dragonite ore and empyreal fragments take more time, the lowest amount of time for a single PvE dungeon run would be around 8-9 minutes at CoF path 1 and gives 20 fragments, while the orrian temples, karka queen, and dragon lieutenants reward ore and vary based on what activity you’re doing and whether the events are up or not.

For my habits, which involve alot of fractal frequenting and dungeon diving, I get a plenty of fragments, as for ore, not so much since I detest the massive pugs and graphic bugs in ore.

What do you use bloodstone dust for? Also, I don’t champ farm unless it’s for finishing a daily achievement. Most of the bloodstone dust comes from champ bags that drop from fractals and dungeons.

I would love for emp to drop from champs or world bosses too. Or to be able to trade bloodstone dust for emp. Don’t nerf the bloodstone drops please, just allow it to be used in more recipes or create a vendor that allows us to trade mats in for other mats.

I disagree. I believe otherwise that there’s not enough bloodstone dust. I have 7 characters. To give them all ascended gear I need roughly 19,000 dust. That’s not considering the new ascended backpiece and probably future precursors.

Stop crying for nerfs again, else i will say : There is too much Dragonite .. nerf that.

And yes, i have far more Dragonite since i don’t la Dungeons, and i hate farming Champs, but thanks to you people who can’t just destroy a Stack of Bloodstone and better cry for nerfs, i now have to farm even more Champs than before.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

Leveling crafting and ascended weapons. I have been collecting it since it was released and still do not even have a single stack of bricks.

Then maybe it’s because your doing a lot of fractals or dungeons? I do not do either of those as there is no sense in doing them once you have gone through unless you are just farming them, which is not my idea of fun. Basically, if you do anything that has a lot of champs and spend lot of time killing champs, you really can’t complain that you are getting too much loot that drops from champs. That really makes no sense. It’s like complaining that you are getting too many dungeon tokens from doing dungeons.

It’s fine that you want to level crafting, but I’m not very interested in leveling crafting because I think it’s boring and feels unnecessarily expensive once you go past 425. This is also assuming you reach 425 by refining materials rather than crafting.

Then maybe it’s because your doing a lot of fractals or dungeons? I do not do either of those as there is no sense in doing them once you have gone through unless you are just farming them, which is not my idea of fun.

I run dungeons and fractals because there are no new explorable areas, I have little interest in wvw and pvp, and because there is my constant goal of playing with and gearing up my alts.

As for ascended armor, I don’t think I’m going to bother with it for a real long time. Farming isn’t my idea of fun either, but oddly enough, I don’t see it as a farm unless I’m doing something for one specific item E.G: an ascended backpiece or weapon. Rather, I view it as slowly building up my resources to gear my alts in complete sets of exotic armor.

Basically, if you do anything that has a lot of champs and spend lot of time killing champs, you really can’t complain that you are getting too much loot that drops from champs. That really makes no sense.

From my perspective, running dungeons makes sense if I want to get additional armor; the resulting bloodstone dust is too much because I don’t see the need to use them for anything that interests me.

From what I understand about your posts, you indicate that you can’t get enough of the bloodstone dust because they’re a source of crafting experience which brings you closer to level 500, something that I’m not very interested in reaching since the highest you can reach is 475 with bloodstone dust.

To me, that’s alot of reagents (gold), and shards which means less time gearing and exploring with my alts.

It’s like complaining that you are getting too many dungeon tokens from doing dungeons.

I can never have too many dungeon tokens because at best, I can get ~180 daily from each dungeon (and I have no problem with that).

While I understand what you’re trying to say, in my opinion, a comparison between tokens and dust isn’t really effective because tokens are subject to diminishing returns and can only be acquired by completing a specific goal at a very specific area.

Bloodstone dust has no restrictions other than needing to kill a champion for it and consequently, as I said before, can be built up fast.

All I can really suggest is if you don’t need it, just delete it.
I would actually love it if they would allow it to be sold on the TP, then players like you who do not want it, could sell it to players like me who do want it.

Just an FYI, leveling crafting is much easier using discovery. I have 2 professions at 500 already, and it only took roughly 30 minutes of crafting each to get them there from 400. It takes 100 dusts to make a single brick. If you got 1 crafting profession to 425 so you could refine it, you could clean out your inventory of it in a few minutes. I know you have no use for it now, but who know what they will introduce later on? I am not going to craft any ascended armor, but I am still trying to amass as much of the materials as possible for now in case I change my mind. Since it’s so time gated, if you don’t do it now and you change your mind later, there is no going back.

Dragonite on dungeons? No – Dragonite should drop on Events in open world to make them attractive again. The OW is empty and that’s so sad, especially if you look into all the detailed work ANet did on conversations and hidden stuff <3

lolwut? that gives you like 1/1000 of of the needed xp. It would take you a year to lvl that way. a stack of bricks? what the hell would you need a stack of bricks for? the truth is the bloodstone dust is dropped WAY too often & used for way to little. It’s kinda nice that you can use it in the fractal thing, but still.. not useful enough.

Who said anything about leveling using only dust? I guess you did not bother to read where I leveled from 400 to 500 in less then thirty minutes? I do not “need” a stack of bricks, but people complaining that it takes up too much room have no idea what they are talking about. If I do not have a full stack, then that means I still have plenty of storage for it that would not take up any additional room from any other material. “I have 10 stacks of dust and I don’t have any room for it”. That’s only 25 bricks if they take the time to refine it. It’s simple, if you don’t want it and don’t want to refine it, just delete it. Problem solved. Why call for a nurf of the drop rates when other players are still using it? It’s amazing how selfish some players can be. “I don’t need it, so remove it so no one else can have it either”.

It’s easy to level using discovery. When I originally leveled, I did not discover all the recipes. (and they reset the exotic discoveries) When I was ready to level up, I used a crafting booster then discovered recipes.
For instance,
There are 11 different orichalcum inscriptions.
I crafted 4 of each.
I then crafted 11 complete sets of weapon parts. (focus, staff, trident, scepter)
That gave me 44 recipes to discover for just this one batch.
Then I went in to the discovery panel and “discovered” each recipe. Each discovery was worth several levels easily when using a booster. I did this for several different types of inscriptions. Did the same thing with tailor (which was far easier because of 6 types of armor to discover) and just finished leatherworking as well.

FYI, 1 of the “goals” I set for myself was getting a complete stack of each type of crafting material so I have been hoarding it for a very long time. I had over 750 of just ectos alone. And no, I do not actively do any farming, just play the game, salvage and gather everything I see.

No its not too high. Please stop asking for more nerfs for no reason. The only thing i would agree with is that there should be more ways to obtain emphyreal fragments/dragonite ore. If you have too much then keep refining into bricks like i did or delete them. Yeesh.

I completely disagree.

I do not have nearly as much bloodstone as I do empyreal stars mats. I am almost exclusively a fractaler, and it is rare that I would find enough bloodstone dust.

Perhaps what is needed is a currency exchange shop, where your bloodstone can be turned into something other, or my empyreal stars can be turned into bloodstone dust.

I have tons of bloodstone dust, twice that amount of empyreal fragments and not so much dragonite since they came out with a way to turn it into gear that can be sold or salvaged. But something like what they did for dragonite could be done for the dust and fragments. I am replying to an old post because the issue is still relevant.
