Ok, so tonight there is a conversation on TS about these weapons, and maybe we missed something about them where not sure,

In Guild Wars ( for those who didn’t play it ) the Tormented weapons could only be gotten via The Domain of Anguish, which was in Elona ( Nightfall ) which you had to farm in order to get the coffer of whispers, they had no interaction with Tyria at all.

So far there has been no link from GW2 to Elona how where these weapons discovered to be introduced to the game, or is it really just down to the $$$…

I don’t follow Lore in this game very much, so if we did miss something maybe some of the Lore enthusiasts can let me know. I only ask because so far in the 18+ months of playing this game, they seem real determined not to link GW to GW2 at all, but now they kinda linked Elona to it,

The very same thing happend to the Zodiac weapons.

But yes, I believe there is no lore connection here, and this is only for earning money while working on more content.

You do not have to spend real life money to get tormented weapons if that your problem you can use gold both for gem to keys or just to simply buy them off the TP. Also money is a means of showing what you have done most real life system are base off of that ideal. If you ask for more skins they will give them to you and ppl HAVE asked for more skins so there you have it.

These Tormented Weapons are fake imitations.

In order to wield the true Legendary weapons of GW1, you had to wear a brace of truth.

There doesn’t appear to be a relation to lore. It’s unfortunate that they decide to throw important things like this into the cash shop. Next week they will have obsidian armor in the cash shop too!

Or you farmed gold and bought one.

There were even people who would not only sell you an Ambrace of Truth but also sell a service where they would go into the DoA to get the weapon you wanted. So you didn’t even need to finish Nightfall.

They also gave them away free to anyone who did 4 short quests during the GW2 anniversary weekend.

This game is a Far Cry away from GW1, GW2 is a totally greedy $$ driven game and will grow worse as time goes on.

Think of it this way, how many GW1 players had these and brought them back to Tyria with them? Those weapons had to go somewhere, right? I had loads of weapons in my HOM. When I logged in to my HOM in GW2, they where gone. Apparently someone (Black Lion traders?) raided my HOM in the past and took them.

Evon and his men found the Eye of the North and looted the tormented weapons GW1 players dedicated into their Hall of Monuments.

Tada, there’s the lore. Destroyer weapons can be crafted so Evon probably sold them off, a couple of Oppressor’s-style weapons are dropped as rare loot but a majority of them are yet to be seen, and tormented weapons can be bought with tickets. The minipets probably ran away except for mini polar bears that he simply slapped into his mini cage packets. The title and hero statues will be sold as player housing ornaments to ANYONE in the future. Primeval armor sets are sold in his gemstore, while all of the other infused armor sets were salvaged for metals and cloths.

He also took the honor statue that popped up when you got GWAMM, that’s going to be sold in the gemstore some time in the future. The rainbow phoenix too, it’s a gemstore pet. It laid eggs and Evon has them in a hatchery. The monumental tapestries were sold to strangers as carpets.

If not this then Evon probably went to DoA and traded with the Forgotten there using the rare gemstones that dropped from that elite instance, yeah, the same Evon who ran like a chicken from LA. Heroic Evon, slayer of the Margonites.

There’s the lore for tormented weapons, no Elona involved. That’ll be 5 ticket scraps please.

This is probably the only reasonable explanation. I don’t see any other way why our weapons would just disappear like that. Darn black lion raiders.
