I personally would LOVE to see these added back into the game. They did an awesome job on the destroyer set and I’m sure they could do an even better one with the tormented set as well.

Well but of course! I would want to see it as a set to obtain not craft. Maybe let us go back into the Realm of Torment and collect some gems (please god make them account bound so this set would mean something).

I kind of wish they’d have consulted the HoM calculator and given a ticket in the mail to individuals who had collected them all from GW1, it’s rather annoying to see them returned and part of bridging your legacy is now items that were added to it, not in the game on release, and now redone in the gemstore; Classy.

Ahh that shield brings back sweet memories…. Sad I have to buy it with dollars…

I dumped some cash into the Key sale from yesterday, got lucky with 3 complete tickets (for the record I only spent $20.00)
While I have no interest in these weapons myself, I think I’ll be making a nice profit off the GW1 vets who want these, but don’t want to deal with the RNG bull.

First of all, thank you for the Nightfall weapon skins! Nightfall was my favourite GW1 game.

The focus is beautiful and I love the shimmering rune-like inscriptions, but… the focus is HUGE.

Could you please consider reducing the size of the focus?

The scepter I like a lot as well, but I always thought the scepters were too long. The princess wand skin is the right size (my opinion).

And as a side-note, I find it frustrating that the staff is not the Trident. >.>

Scraps>Tickets is idiotic. Grinds my gears. If you’re not going to just give the weapons straight up from a BL chest, at least give the god kitten tickets.

If only these actual good skins were at the ends of some juicy content, not 100% gem store. What’s the point of adding great skins to the game if I can spend $10 and then look like a kitten. I want to earn at least SOMETHING other than a backpiece in this game.

Zodiacs are just another skin set. A really nice one but not important lore-wise. Tormented you could earn in GW1, through many gameplay runs of a hard difficulty endgame area called DoA.

Or the game could end up with no updates and possibly shut down since the idea of a business is to make money and if there is no money being made bad things can happen. I’m certainly against RNG chests but if people stop buying gems completely then you might not have a game to log into.

It’s true. People are shelling out the dough left and right. That’s why this keeps happening. I will admit, I’ve spent money on Armor Skins, but that’s about it. I’m not buying freaking keys to only be screwed over by RNG. I’d get some crafting boosters or a few WXP boosters…. I highly doubt I’ll be spending anymore money on Armor Skins either until I see that the money I’ve given them has been put to good use. (which it hasn’t yet.)

Buy the skins for 60g (the price that it usually settles at), or convert your gems to gold.

Your decision to gamble when there are cheaper and more reasonable alternatives is your fault alone.

Most are just…. Bleh. I don’t know. I guess it’s just my personal opinion… This set of weapons will be as ignored as sclerite to me.

I was merely pointing out its not a surprise because they did it for zodiac. And regardless of your personal opinions on which skins are more prestigious/better its still exactly the same issue. Putting elite dungeon rewards in the gemstore.

You and the person you quoted are certainly living under different circumstances, in where you either have the money to blow or have the time to acquire gold in this game and they seem to not have this luxury.

That argument cuts both ways: how is wanting an endless supply of new stuff for free not greedy? Is ArenaNet greedy because they don’t give you free stuff, or are you greedy because you don’t want to pay for it?

New skins cost time and money to make. Funding them through the gem store can reasonably be considered a way to pay for that. GW2 already offers a lot of new content for no additional cost, so should everything that is added from now until forever, including new cosmetic items, cost nothing as well?

It’s easy enough to call other people “greedy” (or my personal favorite: “selfish”), but as the great Stuart Smalley reminds us: “When you point one finger, there are three fingers pointing back at you.”

I love these weapon skins. That said, it disappoints me that what I would consider the most attractive weapon set in game from GW1 has absolutely zero prestige associated with it in GW2. I mean, sure, you could buy the stuff to get them in GW1, but because the items that gave you these items only originated in one of the hardest instances in-game, the cost was huge. These will be locked to the ticket value of a BL ticket, which essentially makes them… worthless. No prestige, just some minor monetary cost, and that’s it.

I would gladly pay a monthly subscription, honestly, if it meant we could get real content with real rewards again. That said, hooray to ANet for making money.

As the link indicated, you can choose to have a guaranteed way to purchase tormented skins. Wait a day and the prices will fall down to 60g across the board.

If you choose to gamble and lose, don’t blame anyone else.

I wasn’t overly fond of torment weapons in gw1…. most of them were just sort of meh. There were a few I liked, and I’m happy to see them make the transition into this game, although I kind of feel that maybe they should have come with Elona… considering where they supposedly come from…

I’m sort of meh on most of these, although I would like the spear, but not as an underwater weapon. I’d like it as a caster weapon again.
