Just was wondering if any plans to make people want to wear town clothes. I see their removing lots of town cloth gear from gem shop, i guess it because noone buys them.
What about adding some benefit to wearing town clothes in towns? That might make people want to wear/buy them. If town clothes would incrase movement speed by 33% in all major cities then imo alot more people would buy them.
I already try to put on town clothes when doing things around city crafting/forge/tp, and imo theres no reason why everyone couldnt have swiftness inside major towns.

Edit: i dont mean that you need gem shop town clothes to get speed buff, but if everyone would wear clothes for speed buff then people would want better looking town clothes than others. And people would put on their battle gear when standing somewhere to show off, but all around city would be people in formal clothes

Town clothes are a complete failure as an idea. Why would I buy a set of clothing that cannot be worn in combat in a game where you are in combat 95% of the time? I would never spend single gem for them.

Actually I hope that the (apparent) slow sales of town clothes makes them reconsider the idea and just introduce costume slots one day that accept -any- type of clothing, like the ones Rift has.

Thing is, I don’t really want people running around in boxing gloves, baseball caps, and aviators while fighting a dragon with me.

Town Clothes would be good armor for Activities, as opposed to the current PvP armor setup, but thats only a marginal fix at best.

I would agree, but we got people running around in quaggan and charr backpacks already, anyway. They don’t seem to worry about immersion breaking silly stuff all that much…

I don’t mean to sound rude, but what people wear should be their decision and not that of another player. Personally, I would enjoy it very much if my ele could wear her Bloody Prince outfit as an armor skin. I feel like it is one of the better designed outfits in the game.
