I cannot understand why ANet has to change the town clothes (that I have) into tonics while the other town clothes are simply becoming armor skins. I bought the Cherry Blossom shirt and Khaki pants because they look nice, and now that they are becoming tonics I am unable to dye them!? What to kitten is up with that? And while they said they will be offering refunds to people who are getting the tonics, yet what is going to make me trust ANet into buying anything with my money that I work hard for. How am I supposed to trust them knowing that they might just change stuff that I buy?

Im done buying much. Ill spend my ‘refunded’ gems and be done with the gemstore. Although at this point, as much as I love the game, Im VERY disappointed and would prefer an outright refund.

I also don’t like the ‘required all or nothing’ way the skins will be handled, like the Mad King set, etc. I bought those for pieces, not for the entire set. Im curious why we cannot get refunds on those either. =/ The whole concept is a poor idea.

The reason they are becoming tonics is because there is a technical limitation with how they handle textures between different armor weights. Everything has to be fit into a certain area of a bigger texture. They could have remodeled the pieces to fit each weight or even restricted them to the closest fit, but considering they didn’t, I’m guessing either they wanted to get rid of them or only a very small minority actually purchased them, making it not worth the cost.

Outfits becoming a 1 piece is a workaround for this issue. Considering they’re not accepting refunds before the patch, maybe they’ll try to fix the others.

Please. The Dragon Emblem Shirt is just a T-shirt that could be easily replaceable on other armor weights. If so, they don’t have to ruin the current system by replacing it with something they want instead of what the community wants.

Yep, I will never be buying anything with my money in the gem store, because I am so disappointed by how they are just forcing this change on us, and they are just going to be giving us a refund in gems. I would much rather I get my actual money back but seeing as that won’t happen, I am not going to spend any more money

I only have one town outfit I like. The wintersday outfit for my female guard. That item is a work of art, the textures and detailing, even the embroidairy on the stockings. Then after watching a guildy with the broom, I got that as well. That broom rocks imho, the sound effects and dust being kicked up like a harrier jet on take off :P. The fact the female toon rides it side straddle and when you stop flying … how the toon “strikes a pose”.

That being said, if the end result of the new changes on town clothes/toys has a major impact on me. Ill get over it. In all fairness I would just have spend those gems on something else I want like , more bags for alts, boost my collection size past 1k etc.

Yeah I have never not liked something Anet did, however the fact that these will become tonics which we aren’t even allowed to dye, makes me pretty mad. They are forcing this change onto us, consumers, and when I purchased this I was nothing thinking “Oh Anet might go and change all the town clothes that I have into tonics”. So I just simply cannot trust Anet not to do something like this in the future.
